I completely agree with you. ...What a great blog! I completely agree with you. I am a mother and I do dress very modestly just because I want to be an example for my daughter and son. But I do have very close friends who dress immodestly and several times I've mentioned to them how I think their shirt is too low or their skirt or shorts are too short.

Beth Moore spoke on this in her Daniel Bible Study and I even wrote it in the front of my Bible:

"One of the ways that we allow the enemy to treat our holy vessel as unholy is through imodest dress. We have dressed our holy vessel in an unholy fashion. We are being used by the enemy to toast the world, the gods of this world, which as the Word of Gd says are as nothing." (Refer to 2 Timothy 2:20-21 and Daniel 5:1-6)

I have had the same attitude as you though, condemning those who are dressed immodestly because of my insecurities. Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. We should dress like it.Ashleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13997188976665807350noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5457998334674353035.post-63590203115733495932007-10-31T21:58:00.000-05:002007-10-31T21:58:00.000-05:00i hope i didn't sound judgemental about women/girl...i hope i didn't sound judgemental about women/girls and their dress. clarifying my thought: when we see them dressing like who will love me...we have to be there to love them open our arms to them look them in the eye and let them know we care. a story came to mind as i was typing this. our pastor told this one sunday. a mom brought her daughter to church and introduced her to our pastor and humiliated her in front of him by drawing attention to her attire. he responded by looking her in the eye, shaking her hand and saying i am so glad you came today and i hope i see you again real soon.

don't you feel we, the body, have to be on guard, our judgementalism creeps in so quick. He Knows My Namehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13021096014064517307noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5457998334674353035.post-38529745785210406822007-10-31T21:40:00.000-05:002007-10-31T21:40:00.000-05:00thanks for checking in jenny. i have been in quite...thanks for checking in jenny. i have been in quite a funk. dr. appts coming up, kind of concerned, ya right. worrying my fool head off, got a head cold to boot.

i will pray for our little morgan. she is such a cutie. i love you too. you are such a blessing to us women.

~ janelHe Knows My Namehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13021096014064517307noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5457998334674353035.post-68787545063054920082007-10-31T15:20:00.000-05:002007-10-31T15:20:00.000-05:00Another good word Jenny. Then the outside can become clean.

I see so many women walk into our church dressed very "minimally' and then you get to know them and their journey. And if they stick around and we're fortunate enough to witness Gods amazing transformation of them you will slowly see the outside change. It's a beautiful process.

I think our insecurities speak before our hearts and better judgment get a chance to sometimes. But it's important not to lash out at those we perceive as less than, or "trash", or even superior to us when really no one is...I do this all the time but I have to remember not to shoot the wounded. We're all wounded and "act" out in our own little ways.

I hope at least a little of this makes sense. I'm tired and don't feel too good!

love you Jenny!!! What made you think you didn't want to write it, was because you were uneasy about sharing you're still human?
If that is why, then you did as God asked of you, and put it out there.

More than most times lately, I don't really want to write the devotionals as transparent as I do, but God shows me how much it ministers to others, people probably can very much relate to your post today.

I surely did, coming from a non-christian home.

So, don't worry!

I have a good word I heard listening to " A Heart Like His" this morning, OMG, loud and clear as I am driving and wondering about how I am going to accomplish everything today, God speaks through Beth, - God had big plans for David, but while David was waiting, he tended to his fathers sheep. God wants us to remember our responsibilities here too, even though we want to do BIG things for HIM!

I don't know if that speaks to you, but I almost had to pull over lol.:)

I'll write about it later, but after that today, I am not sure God wants me to write the next Sister Freaks post, I started to last night, but I just don't feel I should do it if it isn't spirit led this week...does that make sense?Little Steps Of Faithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03289418031470655956noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5457998334674353035.post-33344527284362858382007-10-30T12:01:00.000-05:002007-10-30T12:01:00.000-05:00Hey Jenny! What a great post! Think about it- Why would you expect someone who's father is Satan to act like a child of God? Yet we get extremely judgemental, and many times it stem directly from our own insecurity! We can surely reach these women if we pursue them out of love!
Great post!
