blah blah

I just got home from a long night at the ER. Please don't even ask let's just chalk it up to being something personal. Anyway, at about 5:30 am I leave downtown and head home only to realize I forgot my orthopedic pillow that cost $100. I have shared before that I have to have this special pillow because I am a special person...no but really my spine is shaped opposite at the top. So, all things working for my good I head back to the hospital to get it. I dash in get my pillow and see a man that reeked of smoke wearing a shirt that said and I quote "Jesus is coming back, you better look busy." WHAT? WHAT? Look busy? It was only the Holy Spirit that kept me from stopping to ask him just what that shirt meant and if it was a mockery because I was going to ask and I realized that under the leadership of my husband, he would not approve of me being downtown asking some man that by myself. But isn't that the attitude of so many? Look busy? I have done it and so have you I am sure. I love these verses and they are very convicting:

Colossians 3:22-24
22Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. 23Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, 24since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

Luke 12:37

37It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. I tell you the truth, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them.

We also need to be resting in the Lord so we can be effective for Him. We need to be taking our weary selfs to Him and find the rest that He promises. I pray that He will revive us and stir our hearts to love and good deeds.

And on another note I LOVE THESE VERSES!!! WHERE HAVE THEY BEEN? Because I have been all over the psalms for years and they just jumped out! I need some victory and I will shout with others when they get the victory over things they are struggling with.

Psalm 20:4-8

4 May he give you the desire of your heart
and make all your plans succeed.

5 We will shout for joy when you are victorious
and will lift up our banners in the name of our God.
May the LORD grant all your requests.

6 Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed;
he answers him from his holy heaven
with the saving power of his right hand.

7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.

8 They are brought to their knees and fall,
but we rise up and stand firm.

ps one good thing about the ER trip is that I did get an explanation for the 3 week long headache (PRAISE YOU LORD) sinus infection. I am on my way to some healing!!! I have so got to go to sleep. sorry for any grammatical errors!

hey jenny, i'm glad you listened to the hs. sometimes we just have to let things go. i didn't tho. i should have. i was walking my gson yesterday on a path connecting to playgrounds near our home when i heard some very foul language being dished out to a girl from a boy on their bikes. lots of boys. i told him to wash his mouth out with soap when he got home then he layed into me with his foul language until we were out of site so i called the non-emergency police and they said they would send out a car...don't know if they did. i should have known he would not be intimidated by me and being i had a 1 year old in a stroller i should have just kept on moving. my husband was not happy with me. hugs to you. janel
