What's Up!?!?!?

Isaiah 40:25-27
"To whom will you compare me?
Or who is my equal?" says the Holy One.

26 Lift your eyes and look to the heavens:
Who created all these?
He who brings out the starry host one by one,
and calls them each by name.
Because of his great power and mighty strength,
not one of them is missing.

27 Why do you say, O Jacob,
and complain, O Israel,
"My way is hidden from the LORD;
my cause is disregarded by my God"?

I have been at a conference at my church this week and Wayne Grudem has been there so I have loved that! He spoke on the greatness of God last night and it was so Awesome just to get my mind out of the trenches of daily living and focus on the one who calls each star by name...and not one is missing. He so cares for us. He cares for every fiber of our being and we are fearfully and wonderfully made, chosen before the foundation of the world. Our God is Awesome in Power. Anyway, if you have never read his book Systematic Theology, I highly recommend you do. It takes a year to read it if you do one chapter a week. Beth Moore read it a long time ago.

Here is a devo by James MacDonald (who I also love)...the Holy Spirit has used him to teach me so much.

Psalm 33:5-7

5 The LORD loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of his unfailing love.

6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made,
their starry host by the breath of his mouth.

7 He gathers the waters of the sea into jars;
he puts the deep into storehouses.

Oh my goodness! I would love to meet Wayne. I just got SysTheo this last winter...been a bit busy to really dig in, but I love what I've needed so far! My mom ended up getting it for my dad (really for both of them) for his birthday this summer. Glad to know you are well!

I would love to hear this guy.

Get out of the trenches of daily living and focus on the one who knows each star by name and loves me so much.

Thanks for sharing Jenny. I'm grateful. No trenches for me tomorrow. :)

oh, I have not been to a retreat in so long. I cannot remember what that is like. Not since my mommyhood when to single-mommyhood 6 years ago.

What a blessing though. I have not heard of Wayne, I will have to investigate.

I have the book but I haven't ventured to read it yet! Maybe I need to try and tackle it! It was highly recommended to me too! I would have loved to have heard him speak! So cool!

Jenny, Jenny, how I have missed reading your blog! I have been away from blog land for a bit, work has kept me pretty confined. I'm hoping I can drop by and read your blog more frequently, as well as throw in a few of my own posts here and there. Hope all is well :)

Thanks Jenny for being faithful to the Lord, and always having something that I can glean from. AS I have been sick again for a while..I have had lots of time, and I am so hungry for the word! Although I am doing so on my own, I always love what I get here. YOU speak a word girl!
