PLEASE read EVEN though YOU think it is LONG

you are all so sweet. my head still hurts like crazy and I am going face down each morning to try to keep in step with the Spirit because I have been irritable. I have been trying to study my online (medical transcription) courses today and Morgs has some co-dependent issues and needs me to watch Max and Ruby with her which adds to the irritation. Whew!! Also, the Lord has just outdone Himself on that painting. I thought maybe we'd make like five or ten dollars but He is doing exceedingly abundantly more than I asked with my little lunch I had to offer. If you have no idea what I am talking about CLICK HERE.

Also, I need to type out my notes from my trip but please bare with migraine girl. I got an appointment for September the 18 th so hopefully I don't drive everyone up the wall by then. Send me any medicine suggestions (thanks Professor Cheryl) so I can make a list before I go...and Topamax does not work for me.
Here is something you must read...it has been resonating with me every day.
It is by Pastor Greg Laurie (please keep his family in prayers since their son died recently).

Powered by His Spirit

"Don't act thoughtlessly, but try to understand what the Lord wants you to do. Don't be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, let the Holy Spirit fill and control you."
Ephesians 5:17–18

When we think of being filled with the Spirit, we often relate it to an emotional experience or a feeling of euphoria.

But in reality, the word, "filled," could be translated, "controlled by." It is a word that speaks of what happens when the wind fills the sails of a boat and guides it along. So God is saying that we are to let His Spirit fill us and control our lives.

Another interesting thing about this word is that in the original language, it is in a tense that speaks of something that should be done continually. So you could translate this sentence, "Be constantly filled with the Spirit." This is not a one-time event. Instead, it is something that takes place over and over again, just as we repeatedly fill the gas tanks in our cars to keep them running.

God wants to refill us with His Spirit. It is a great thing to say each day, "Lord, fill me with your Spirit. Lord, fill me once again." You may have emotional experiences. You may not have emotional experiences. But that has very little to do with the reality of being filled with and controlled by the Spirit.

One other thing about this phrase from Ephesians 5:18 is that it's a command, not a suggestion. The Scripture is not saying, "If it works with your schedule, if you don't mind, would you please consider maybe letting the Holy Spirit fill and control you?" Rather, God is saying that He commands us, He orders us, to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Jenny,

I'm praying for you! I don't have any suggestions. I have had migraines since I was a little girl and nothing really works on me. He gives me Imitrex but it doesn't work for me either. Years ago they tried me on amitriptylene because low doses sometimes prevents some people from having them, but it didn't work for me.

Great message on being filled with the Spirit. Thank you for sharing that!

Blessings
Michelle

I am praying for you girl...hang in there. My friend at Life at Sonic Speed (in my favorites list) suffers from migraines..she would be a great person to bounce ideas off of...I know she's been on several types of medication....

The WORD here is AWESOME too! Love the concept of a constant filling...kind of like leaving the water running all the time. Loved this. Thanks for sharing.

Love you!

Hi Jenny,

Praying for your poor head. At least Max and Ruby aren't as loud and annoying as, say, The Doodlebops!
