1 Peter 3:15 But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect
Okay it is Thursday...
I would love to hear today a testimony of sorts as to how you came to know the Lord or a testimony of something great He has done in your life. We should always be prepared to give a reason for the hope that we have. You can share a praise or a verse as usual. ;)

Well...my life was transformed in 1998 when at my wits end with 2 very small children, a family member took me to bible study. I had no idea you could open your bible and actually underline, mark, and even write in it! :) This was a group of mommas who took God's Word and applied to life.....never knew that was possible. This is when Jesus became real to me and I've been after Him ever since!!! Oh, how I love Him and am amazed at His love for pitiful me who fights sin every day! He is truly magnificent!
August 19, 1990 my life changed forever. I had just come back to California after a 3 day long bus journey from Knoxville, TN. I was escaping my 1st husbands wrath. The 2nd day into my journey west my husband took his life. Jump forward 2 months and I sit at my new job with a co-worker who's in love with the Lord. I saw it - i wanted it! He invited me to church and although I felt awkward, i did not feel out of place. Several weeks later, sitting in the same church, I listened to a guest speaker from Mexico with such a strong accent I couldn't understand a word he said...until the end when he asked if anyone would like to invite Christ to be their personal Savior? THOSE words i understood - and I was beckoned to His throne that day...FOREVER changed! I was married to Brent exactly one year later 8-18-90 on a Sunday! This isn't so much my "testimony" as much as it is my transformation day...I LOVE IT!!!!
I decided early on in life that the whole christian thing was NOT for me. I did it because I had to when I lived at home and in college I did my thing, my way and that did not include religion or a God of any sort. I tried to live life my way but was sick and tired of all the christians I knew. I actually would walk on the opposite side of the street to get away from them. hate is not even nice enough to say how I felt abou them. Then one day I decided that I wanted to proove all christians liars. I began my journey but obviously was unable to do that. I met some people who allowed me to be me ... questions and all and well I eventually decided that it was for real and my life was changed.
This is the campbell soup condensed version of the story there is so much more to it but it would take up your whole blog :)
I was turning 30 and just gave to birth to our second child. As I sat on the couch at my in-laws house during my 30th birthday party, I told the Lord that I could not live out my 30ies as a burned out Christian. I asked God to light a fire inside me to do something so that I would know him intimately and truly understand why I call myself a Christian. It's been 8 incredible years. I forgot to mention to my husband that I prayed that prayer, bad move. We face some difficult times over the next couple of years, but God had us on parallel journeys that drew us closer together than ever. We have been in the Word, in prayer, and diligently seeking His will for our lives. The verse that has had the most impact this past year is Philippians 4:6-9. We have put an emphasis on believing only what we know to be true. That has helped us find and keep our joy this past year. God bless you.
Jenny - I would love that too some day - I bet we could talk for hours!
Just wanta say keep doing what you're doing - the Lord is obviously growing and stretching you and through that He is reaching so many others in the process too! Your obedience and ferver and passion for Him is reaching far more than you might think!
y'all your testimonies here are precious. I was reading Tozer's Pursuit of God today and was reminded yet again of how He initiated relationship with us. Praise Him!!! :)
I am a little late on my Testify Thursday so I will make it a Testify Friday. The Lord's creation is absolutely amazing and beautiful. I am currently at the beach enjoying the sun, sand and water! Thank you Lord for making the beach for us to enjoy!
