Psalm 29

A Psalm of David.
1 Give unto the LORD, O you mighty ones,

Give unto the LORD glory and strength.
2 Give unto the LORD the glory due to His name;

Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

3 The voice of the LORD is over the waters;

The God of glory thunders;
The LORD is over many waters.

4 The voice of the LORD is powerful;
The voice of the LORD is full of majesty.

5 The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars,
Yes, the LORD splinters the cedars of Lebanon.

6 He makes them also skip like a calf,
Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild ox.

7
The voice of the LORD divides the flames of fire.

8 The voice of the LORD shakes the wilderness;
The LORD shakes the Wilderness of Kadesh.
9 The voice of the LORD makes the deer give birth,
And strips the forests bare;

And in His temple everyone says, “Glory!”

10 The LORD sat enthroned at the Flood,

And the LORD sits as King forever.

11 The LORD will give strength to His people;
The LORD will bless His people with peace.

True Love

I can remember watching mothers and their children eat and drink after each other and think: oh nasty I would not do that! I am an extreme germ phobe and I will not drink after other people and that sort of thing(even family...I just think it is disgusting). Well, all of those rules flew out the window when I had Morgan (flesh of my flesh). I knew it was true love tonight when she sneezed in the chicken salad that we were eating (Mrs. Stratton's Gold) after Bible study...we just continued to eat it with our wheat thins in hand. Also, tonight she decided to plant one on her momma! GRACE...unmerited favor! I don't normally get a free kiss from her...I usually have to steal my sugars! She planted one on me and the Lord knew how I would love that sweet surprise!
The Lord is also working a word in me that I am going to share tomorrow...but for now I have had a long day!!

Nap Time

I am about to take a nap before Bible study...please don't be jealous. Also, I am going to dream about my dinner plans at the Olive Garden on Thurs. Fettuccine Alfredo with Grilled Chicken on top. Amy better not cancel...but if she does, me and Jesus will be eating there. And no the Jesus I am talking about is not my Spanish friend...it is the Jesus!

Last night, around midnight, I went in Morgans room to check on her. She is one little dancing machine people and she was still going strong watching Curious George. When I walked in...I was thinking no she cant still be up...she was. Anyway, I put on Elmo for her and she starting getting her groove on to the intro. I saw those pig-tales flying and those cute little chubby cheeks just a grinning. I took such delight in seeing how precious she is. We have to have dance parties every day ( EVERY DAY ) to CeCe Winans...she has the right momma because I sure don't mind. Who do you think teaches her this stuff?? If you come to Ms. Jenny's you can count on a dance for Jesus party. I have been doing this for years! She really has some moves for a 2 year old and her dad will agree to that. She is so special to me and I thank Him for His tenderness, grace , and mercy in sharing her with me. I don't think we will ever understand the delight our Father takes in us...but I sure am thankful for the glimpse.

Sweet Shelly tagged me so here it is....

Here are the rules:

1. those tagged will share 5 things they dig about Jesus…
2. those tagged will tag 5 other bloggers
3. those tagged will post a comment here with their name and a link to their “dig” Jesus list…

1. I love that He loves me no matter what i have done and that He comes chasing after me and will not let me stay where I am at....

2. I love that I have had to depend on Him to be my everything and He has not disappointed. I have truly known what it means for Him to say that His love is unfailing. PRAISE YOU!

3. I love that He gave us His word and that it is so enduring...and that He is so Holy yet HE would endure with me. I love that we can Know HIM!

4. I love Him for rescuing me from myself and darkness.

5. I love that He is so repetitious with me...constantly driving home the same points over and over. Also, Shelly stole my line because I am actually His favorite!! :) LOL!

Now I will try to tag five people!!!

Psalm 49

I read Psalm 49 last night and was so blessed by it. I hope you can drink it in like I did. It is amazing how you read something so many times and then it just jumps out to you! I read this and then jumped to Psalm 50 and I am talking got some Holy Fear going on!!!

David Jeremiah

I am so convicted over reading this. Just this morning I was so cold (because Rod keeps the air low at night) and I have gotten to where I can feel my bones while I sleep...anyway, I didn't want to get out of the bed this morning so I layed there for extra time and I felt the nudge of the Spirit to get up! So I did and I put on my wonderful pink robe! Then I read this!!

Look Up in the Morning

Turning Point

My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning I will direct it to You, and I will look up.Psalm 5:3

Bertha Smith served the Lord in a bitterly cold part of China. During the day she wore thirty pounds of clothing, and at night she slept under heavy bedding and with a hot water bottle. Her greatest challenge came in the early morning hours when she wanted to rise early so she could have her quiet time before the scores of interruptions that each day brought. She would struggle in the darkness to put on her layers of clothing, then break the ice to wash her face in the cold water; and she would slip out to a particular haystack where she would rake aside the frosted part of the hay, kneel down, and spend time with the Lord before the sun came up.
Shame on us when we neglect our morning devotions! Most of us live in heated and air-conditioned homes, with padded slippers, hot showers, and plentiful breakfasts.
There's no better way to launch a new day than with the Lord through Bible study and prayer. Even Jesus himself rose a great while before daylight to slip to a nearby mountainside for prayer before the day's work began (Mark 1:35).
Have you been looking up in the morning?
The morning is, as it were, the cream of the day; let the cream be taken off, and let God have it.Thomas Watson

Worship Defined

From Walk in the Word by Pastor James MacDonald
Worship Defined
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind . . .” Luke 10:27
We were created and saved for the sole purpose of bringing glory to God. True worship recognizes that I am for Him. I breathe for Him. I live for Him. I spend my life for Him. The essence of worship is proclaiming God’s rightful worth and position. It’s one of the reasons why we go to church: to sweep out the peripherals that have crowded God out of His central place in our lives.
So much of what passes for worship these days misses that mark. Worship is not about me-what God does for me and how He benefits me. Worship is not singing, “Hold me close, let Your love surround me, bring me near . . .” An element of testimony is fine, but worship is singing to God. The joy of worship begins when we break the chains of self to be free to focus on God once and for all. God is not some exalted human being at the top of the mankind chain. God is ineffable glory. He dwells in unapproachable light (1 Timothy 6:16). He is not like us at all. He says of Himself in Isaiah 55:9, “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
God leads us to the place of worship because that is the place where we rightly belong. The word worship in the Old Testament means “to bow before.” It’s the picture of pressing your forehead to the ground in extreme humility and recognition of the infinite superiority of the one who is worshipped. That is our rightful place. The amazing thing is not that God invites our worship, it’s that He would care about what we as sinful people would say about Him at all and even more-that He would seek it (John 4:23).
Though I can’t explain it exactly, when the God of the universe is rightly worshipped, powerful things happen. When Jesus is passionately adored without shame or pretense, without entertainment or needless comedy, God shows up.

Holy Whoopin!

these are from my friend Donna and the Lord just spanked my rear end with these. I have been harboring offenses and nursing them feeling completely justified and I am wrong...no matter how hard or continual the trial or hurt.

Unoffendable

By Francis Frangipane

"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh" (Ezek. 36:26).

God has a new heart for us that cannot be offended, an "unoffendable" heart. Beloved, possessing an unoffendable heart is not an option or a luxury; it?s not a little thing. Consider: Jesus warns that, as we near the end of the age, a majority of people will be offended to such a degree that they fall away from the faith. Listen carefully to His warning:

"Then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another . . . and because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold" (Matt. 24:10-12 KJV).

?Many? will be offended; the love of ?many? will grow cold. My prayer is that we will hear His words with holy fear.

When we allow an offense to remain in our hearts, it causes serious spiritual consequences. In the above verse Jesus named three dangerous results: betrayal, hatred and cold love. When we are offended with someone, even someone we care for, we must go to them. Otherwise, we begin to betray that relationship, talking maliciously behind their back to others, exposing their weaknesses and sins. We may mask our betrayal by saying we are just looking for advice or counsel, but when we look back, we see we have spoken negatively to far too many people. Our real goal was not to get spiritual help for ourselves but to seek revenge toward the one who offended us. How is such action not a manifestation of hatred? For an offended soul, cold love, betrayal and hatred go hand-in-hand.

People don?t usually stumble over boulders; they stumble over stones, relatively small things. It may be that the personality of someone in authority bothers us and soon we are offended. Or, a friend or family member fails to meet our expectations, and we take an offense into our soul. Beloved, if we will ?endure to the end,? we will have to confront the things that bother us.

When Jesus warns that we need endurance, He is saying that it is easier to begin the race than finish it. Between now and the day you die, there will be major times of offense that you will need to overcome. You might be in such a time right now. Do not minimize the danger of harboring an offense.

No one plans on falling away; no one ever says, ?Today, I think I?ll try to develop a hardened, cold heart.? Such things enter our souls through stealth and it is only naiveté that assumes it couldn?t happen to us. I know many people who consistently become offended about one thing or another. Instead of dealing with the offenses, these people carry them until the weight disables their walk with God. You may be doing fine today, but I guarantee you, tomorrow something will happen that will inevitably disappoint or wound you; some injustice will strike you, demanding you retaliate in the flesh.

The Root Of Offense
An offense can strike at our virtues or sins, our values or our pride. It can penetrate and wound any dimension of the soul, both good and evil. I once brought a series of messages about gossip. Most people saw their sin and repented, but a core group of gossips were greatly offended and ultimately left the church. When the Holy Spirit exposes sin in someone?s soul, if we refuse the opportunity to repent, we often become offended at the person who brought the teaching. Instead of humbling our hearts, we are outraged at the pastor or teachers in the church. Truthfully, most of the time, I have no idea who specifically needs to hear what I?m teaching, but God knows.

Paul told Timothy to ?reprove, rebuke, exhort? (see 2 Tim. 4:2). He didn?t say, ?exhort, exhort, exhort,? but exhortation is what we receive in most churches. Certainly, we need to be encouraged, but there are also times, beloved, when we need to be reproved and rebuked. Today, there are preachers who are afraid to preach truth for fear people will react and leave the church. The end result is a church of easily offended people who cannot grow beyond their inability to accept correction.

People don?t change by exhortation alone. There are areas in all of us that need to be confronted and disciplined. The pastor who refuses to discipline and correct those in sin is in disobedience to God. He is unable to lead people into any truly transforming changes in their lives; they will not ?endure to the end? if they cannot be corrected (see Matt. 24).

We need to become a people who say, ?Lord, show me what needs to change in me.? I?m talking about growing up. A wise man will receive a rebuke and he will prosper. But a fool rejects his father?s discipline (see Prov. 15:5).

Personal Offense
An offense can wound our pride when we are not recognized for our good works or ministry. This happened to my wife and I long ago while in California. We were young pastors at a conference when the main leader decided to personally greet each minister and wife. He greeted the couple on our right and then turned to his staff to ask a question. A moment later he returned, but passed us by and went to the couple on our left. Everyone around us saw we were bypassed. We were embarrassed and offended. But my wife wisely observed that we could allow this thing to hurt us or we could see it as an investment in sensitivity toward other people?s feelings. The offense taught us how others feel when they are ignored. Do you see this? You must make that offense become an opportunity to become more Christlike.

The occasions for taking offense are practically endless. Indeed, we are daily given the opportunity to either be offended by something or to possess an unoffendable heart. The Lord?s promise is that He?s given us a new heart: a soft, entreatable heart that can be filled with His Spirit and abound with His love.

Lord, forgive me for being so easily offended and for carrying offenses. Father, my heart is foolish and weak. Grant me the unoffendable heart of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Unoffendable
Part Two
Francis Frangipane

?Then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another . . . and because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold? (Matt. 24:10-12 KJV).

The Sequence That Leads To Apostasy
In our last teaching we looked at offenses and examined the lethal effect an offended spirit could have upon our lives. We discussed how the only way to not be permanently offended was to attain the unoffendable heart of Jesus Christ.

Attaining Christ?s heart is not a minor issue. Remember, Jesus warned that, in the last days, ?many? would be offended. A wounded spirit is not the same thing as an offended spirit - an offense occurs when we do not process our wounds in a Christlike manner. Indeed, an offended spirit, left unattended and brooding in our minds, will soon manifest as betrayal, hatred and cold love. Jesus said offenses would be the ultimate cause that leads many to fall from faith. Listen well: Jesus linked the real cause of apostasy not to wrong doctrines, but wrong reactions.

Aren?t right doctrines important? Of course, but we can have right information and still have a wrong response. Doctrinal information can be upgraded and refined, but Proverbs warns that someone ?offended is harder to be won than a strong city,? and ?contentions? between people ?are like the bars of a castle? (Prov. 18:19).

Yes, beware of false leaders, but more deceitful than false prophets or teachers is our own heart when it is offended (Jer. 17:9). Are you living with an offended heart? If so, you are gradually slipping away from true Christianity, which is known for its agape love.

Thus, dealing with an offended heart is vital in maintaining ongoing spiritual maturity. For this reason, we need to look again at the things that offend us.

False Expectations
Unrealistic or exaggerated expectations inevitably will cause others to fall short and offend us. Some desire their spouse or pastor or friends to meet their every need. However, at the deepest level, our soul was created to find its security in God, not man. When the Almighty truly becomes our security, our peace flows from our awareness of His love and unlimited capabilities. As people who put their confidence in God, we can live comfortably with imperfect people around us.

Still, the very power of our expectations can choke out the sweetness of a personal relationship. Suppose that, instead of burdening people with our expectations, we simply learned to appreciate them for themselves - no strings attached. What if we approach family and friends with gratitude for what they are doing rather than disappointment for what they failed to do?

Suppose that a husband, instead of expecting a full course dinner from his wife each night, learned to appreciate whatever she was able to offer him? Then, instead of his failed expectation degrading into an offense, there would be a living, sincere appreciation for the food his wife prepared. I know we have arrangements by common consent, but in reality, a wife is under no obligation to cook special meals or do housekeeping. You did not marry her to be your housekeeper, but to become one with her.

Or imagine a husband who works a long, tiring job. However, his wife expects that he will work another two hours at home or go shopping with her or listen attentively about her problems. What if, instead, she welcomed him at the door and sincerely thanked him for daily giving himself to support their family? What if she met him, not with demands, but with appreciation? Perhaps she might even massage his shoulders and, because of love, have his favorite meal prepared.

You see, expectations can seem like legitimate aspects of a relationship, but they can also cause us to be disappointed and offended when people fall short. I have known situations in the past where my expectations actually blinded me to the efforts being made by a loved one. They were trying to improve in an area I was unaware of because my focus was preset upon a different expectation. I should have been grateful and encouraging.

Of course, today I discuss issues and expectations with those close to me, but the weight of my expectation is not on others, but upon myself to be Christlike and sensitive to those around me. I put a premium upon enjoying the uniqueness of others, sincerely thanking God for their contribution to my life.

When God Himself Offends Us
The fact is, false expectations can become a source of many deep offenses. However, one of the worst offenses we can suffer is when God Himself purposely offends us.

In 2 Kings 5, we read the story of when Naaman, a Syrian general, sought to be healed of leprosy by Elisha, the prophet. When Naaman and his entourage arrived at Elisha?s house, Elisha didn?t greet him personally, but instead sent his servant with a word/cure for Naaman. It was a simple assignment for the military leader: wash seven times in the Jordan River. However, the cure offended Naaman. Why didn?t the prophet himself come out? Why this muddy Jordan? Scripture says that ?Naaman was furious.?

An offended spirit is an angry spirit. In this case, Naaman was beyond mad; he was furious. Do you find that you are always mad at a particular person? It?s because they have offended you and you haven?t forgiven them. Naaman was offended at Elisha, but what was the real cause of Naaman?s offense? Listen to his words. He said, ?Behold, I thought, ?He will surely come out to me, and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place, and cure the leper?? (v. 11).

Catch the phrase, ?Behold, I thought . . .? In truth, Naaman was not offended by Elisha, but by his own failed expectations. He probably spent many hours envisioning the moment of healing. He even pictured himself testifying of how the man of God healed him. When it didn?t happen according to his plan, he was offended.

Friends, before the Lord heals you or assigns you some new, elevated position of service, He will often offend you. Why? What is it that gets offended in us? Usually, it is our pride. We come to God desiring physical healing, but the Lord wants us not only to be healed, but to be humble. Yes, God heals us through our faith, but there our times when our own pride keeps us from receiving the method of God?s healing. The Lord offends us to humble us, so He can give us grace. Faith works through grace, but God only gives grace to the humble.

Look at how often Jesus offended people before He healed them. Once, He actually spit on the ground, made mud and put it on a blind man?s eyes, and then told him to walk across town that way! Imagine if you were next in the healing line and saw what the guy before you had to do. Admit it, we each would be looking for another healing ministry, one that is a little less offensive! On another occasion He told a woman who came seeking her daughter?s healing that she was an unclean dog; another time, He stuck His fingers in the ears of a man to heal his deafness. The Lord often offended people before He healed them.

If we would learn to humble ourselves in the offense, we would discover that the apparent offense was, in realty, a door that led into the manifest power of God. When Jesus called the Canaanite woman a ?dog,? instead of being offended, she said, ?Yes, Lord, but even the dogs feed on the crumbs? (Matt. 15:27). When Jesus told the man to walk across town with mud in his eyes, the man didn?t argue or ask for a more dignified healing; he humbled himself and came back seeing. When Elisha told Naaman to dip in the Jordan seven times, the offense wounded him. Yet, when he humbled himself, his leprosy was replaced with the skin of a little child. His skin became as a child, because his heart, through humility, became as a child.

Maybe you haven?t received your healing or breakthrough yet because to walk the path set before you is beneath your dignity. Maybe you need to get rid of your dignity and go to that Pentecostal or Baptist church you?ve been making fun of, then ask them to pray for you. God wants to heal you, but He also wants to renew and transform you with His grace.

Overcome Offenses
When we study what Jesus taught, it is obvious that He came to make us ?unoffendable.? Consider: He says that if someone slaps you on one cheek, offer him the other. He said to love our enemies and bless those who curse us. What He?s really doing is showing us how an unoffendable heart of love overcomes all adversity.

We pray, ?Lord, I want to change.? To answer our prayer, He sometimes must put us in situations that perfectly offend us. The offense itself awakens our need of grace. Thus, the Lord precipitates change by first offending the area of our soul He desires to transform. He does not expect us to merely survive this adversity, but to become Christlike in it. Ask Joseph in the Old Testament: the ?land of offense? became the land of his anointing and power. Listen my friends: the destiny God has for man unfolds or dies at the junction of offense. How we handle offense is the key to our tomorrow.

?Those who love [God?s] law have great peace, and nothing causes them to stumble? (Ps. 119:165).

Lord, grant me that new creation heart that can walk as Jesus walked, through a world of offenses without stumbling. I want to see everything as an opportunity to pray, everything as an opportunity to become Christlike. Lord help me to interpret offenses as opportunities that lead to transformations. Grant me, Lord Jesus, the pulse and beat of Your unoffendable heart. Amen.

To the Unknown Caller

I guess my info is pretty readily available so I just want to speak to the Unknown caller that keeps calling my cell:

If you block your number I WILL NEVER answer your call. If you don't leave a message I will not call you back. I screen!

Just had to get that off my chest...I am sick of the restricted calls every other hour!

bad knees

Just a brief word if you have kids:

DO NOT LET THEM run cross-country or track starting in the 7th grade. I started running year round in the 7th grade and up until recently. My knees are killing me from it. I decided while I was feeling better this morning to go to the gym and I am not sure what possessed me but I ran in spite of knowing that I would have to pop some ibuprofen later. No one has to force me to exercise because I love it but I just wanted to give some advice. The irony though is that I can bulk up by looking at a treadmill and I am actually smaller if I don't exercise...weird.

Ranting to the blog world

Life couldn't be more fun at the Williams house! I have been nauseous and I won't name the other thing....but let's just say I am experiencing my good friend number 4. AND NO I AM NOT PREGNANT either. After all the GI fun I am thinking of having my tubes tied since I have had so much fun puking.

I am not sure what is wrong with me but my body doesn't agree with food anymore. You know when you are sick and your sense of smell triggers things making it worse?? Well, I just almost divorced Rod for making hamburgers when I told him how sick I was. I mean have some respect for the sick girl! He said he has to eat and that I am always sick....then I had to pray for the Lord to have mercy on Him (since he is making lite of my trials j/k) so that he doesn't get sick like I have over the last couple of years. Anyway, Morgan just ate her own poop. Rod changed her and some got out (I really don't understand how she has escapee poops every time he changes her). She poured out the deluxe bag of skittles (all of the precious reds and purples...gone!) and somewhere along the way she made the mistake of picking up the tiny brown skittle...and what a horrible taste, this was no skittle it was poo. She quickly gave it to her dad. I am so glad it was him this time.

How will I tie all of this in to Jesus you ask? Well, Jesus was fully God and fully man and He...the Lord of glory...pooted (I don't do that), went to the bathroom and etc just like all of us! Don't you know He and His disciples set around pulling each other's finger...you know He had to be funny too like that...fully God and fully MAN!! Food for thought.

No more pizza for me. AS SOON as I got finished typing the last words from my entry yesterday I began to throw up. I was wondering why in the world I get sick almost every Friday night and I realized it is because I almost always have pizza on Fridays. I must have some sort of allergy to it and I am going to say farewell to pizza. So long...I will miss you...but I won't miss what you bring to me after I eat you!

Hey for real, I was reading again this morning about the Israelites and how God brought them up out of their bondage and provided for them. He tested them in raining down manna and giving them instructions as to what to gather to see whether they would obey Him.
Exodus 16:3-4
3 The Israelites said to them, "If only we had died by the LORD's hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death."
4 Then the LORD said to Moses, "I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions.

I am just going to be really honest here. I have grumbled and complained after God had brought me out of my own personal land of slavery. It is easy, but dangerous, to look back on where God has delivered us from and to and then start to grumble and complain. We buy into the lie that things were better in slavery (if we come up against hard circumstances) and we have a propensity to want to return believing that things were better there. I have been the dog returning to her vomit. Have you ever seen a dog eat vomit? I have...they throw up and then maybe eat some grass or something and then eat their vomit. It is sick! I threw up last night and it is awful. I know some people have eating disorders and they throw up. I am sorry but I would starve myself before I would want to throw up. I hate it. With both pregnancies I threw up the whole time, all day. Not just in the morning...whoever called it morning sickness was a liar. Anyway, me returning to my folly, and the places God has said to leave, is like me throwing up the nastiness and then going back to eat it. Look at Numbers 11 the children of God are at it again:
5 We remember the fish we ate in Egypt at no cost-- also the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions and garlic.
6 But now we have lost our appetite; we never see anything but this manna!"
Instead of being content with the manna from heaven they wanted what they had in their slavery. They forgot the backbreaking, laborious, slavery that they lived in and felt that it would have been better if God had left them to die in Egypt. Lord please help us to be content and more than satisfied in You. You are enough yet in our nearsightedness and wantonness we are prone to crave the lesser things. God help me to remember what a great deliverance You have brought me through. Lord give us more of You and help us not to take up friendship with this world. You are what we need Lord. Give us a Holy Hatred for what you hate!

1 Corinthians 10:21
21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot have a part in both the Lord's table and the table of demons.

1 Corinthians 10

My word from this morning

I am not quite sure where this is going to go since it is 12:17am. I told you that I had a word this morning and I just have to share. I started to break out my Bible study this morning and I just felt a no...let's go at this with Jenny, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and no moderator. So, as I began my mind turned to the night before with my time in Proverbs. I hate when I start this late at night sharing because I really get worked up by the time it is over and I can't sleep. I have spent so many years pouring over Psalms and Proverbs and they have become some of my most favorite books. When I need wisdom and correction I turn to The "Verbs" (Proverbs) and when I need to relate, find comfort, chastisement, see how BIG God is, when I need to just plain get my focus on Him and worship Him, and put my trust in Him I turn to the Psalms. Well, this morning I sensed that I was knowing the word but I was not hearing it. I can recite it...but I wasn't taking God at His word. Speak to me I prayed and my heart turned to Proverbs Chapter 2. Written by King Solomon (King David's son) I pictured David having his face to face heart to hearts with his son, pleading with him to get wisdom and then Solomon is passing it on. I have a two year old and she makes me want to be free in Christ. I have faltered in so many ways but I so desperately want her to learn from my mistakes without having to go at them on her own. I could just hear David tell Solomon these words from a heart that passionately loved God and knew what it was to miss the mark as Solomon shares them with us. I could just see him trying to teach Solomon that life is vanity and that the things that you think will bring you momentary pleasure (which you may think will bring you lasting pleasure) are not worth anything if you aren't finding your wholeness and worth in God.

Here is all of two so you can get the tone for yourself:

NIV Proverbs 2:1 My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you,
2 turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding,
3 and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding,
4 and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure,
5 then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.
6 For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
7 He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,
8 for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.
9 Then you will understand what is right and just and fair-- every good path.
10 For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
11 Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you.
12 Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse,
13 who leave the straight paths to walk in dark ways,
14 who delight in doing wrong and rejoice in the perverseness of evil,
15 whose paths are crooked and who are devious in their ways.
16 It will save you also from the adulteress, from the wayward wife with her seductive words,
17 who has left the partner of her youth and ignored the covenant she made before God. {17 Or covenant of her God}
18 For her house leads down to death and her paths to the spirits of the dead.
19 None who go to her return or attain the paths of life.
20 Thus you will walk in the ways of good men and keep to the paths of the righteous.
21 For the upright will live in the land, and the blameless will remain in it;
22 but the wicked will be cut off from the land, and the unfaithful will be torn from it.

Then Chapter Three comes and I can just hear this coming from the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, but from the pen of Solomon, and I am sure King David taught him so much of what he wrote if I had to guess...don't you know he wanted Sol. to get wisdom. It is so easy to skip over these next verses because we hear them so much. This morning I fixed Morgan her breakfast and we got her a scripture out of the box. She picked out one randomly and handed it to me...I read it and it was Proverbs 3:5-6. Then I scrolled down on twinkles blog and there it was Proverbs 3:5-6. I promise my Teacher, Jesus, is so repetitious with this stubborn girl for a reason. For those of you who just take it all to the bank good for you...but the Lord really drives it home in His parenting of me.

NIV Proverbs 3:1 My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart,
2 for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity.
3 Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. {6 Or will direct your paths}
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil.
8 This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.

Verse one says that we are to keep His commands on our hearts "2 for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity." Let me ask you a question that I am asking myself: Why do we believe that God is not good so often and try to go our own way? His commands are not burdensome they are always for us. Every time I have bought the same lie Eve did in the garden I have gotten bit and seen firsthand that He was right. That is why it is so important that His words are not words on a page or things that we memorize and rattle off. He wants them to invade our hearts and minds and our beings to the core. Our hearts (seat of emotion) really are deceitful (Jer 17:9) and the only way we will be free in Christ is to have truth so ingrained in us that we discern truth from lies. The Lord doesn't want us to be like what James talks about where we just listen to the word but we don't do what it says. He wants us to remember what we hear and put it into practice.

James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror
24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.
25 But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it-- he will be blessed in what he does.

Let me give you an illustration here. I am going to tell on myself...I have a mirror in my car on my visor. I pull down that visor and I will check to make sure I look okay and then I will check again, and again before I get somewhere. I am always reminded of these verses. It is like seriously Jenny did you just forget what you looked like so you need to check again real quick...get a grip. But really we do this. We hear stuff and we walk away forfeiting our liberty by not putting it into practice. The word for prosperity in verse one is
" shalowm {shaw-lome'} and it means1) completeness, soundness, welfare, peace 1a) completeness (in number) 1b) safety, soundness (in body) 1c) welfare, health, prosperity 1d) peace, quiet, tranquillity, contentment 1e) peace, friendship 1e1) of human relationships 1e2) with God especially in covenant relationship 1f) peace (from war) 1g) peace (as adjective)."
He says that in keeping His commands we will have prosperity: peace. I love that this definition speaks of soundness. I know firsthand what it is like to be tripping in sin and have no soundness in my bones. I also know what it is like to be obedient and have turmoil around me, strife, and war yet have peace that surpasses all understanding. Verse three says let love and faithfulness never leave you. This is so important that he is saying to bind those two things around your neck and write them on the tablet of your heart. The word for faithfulness in the hebrew is:

emeth {eh'-meth}
Meaning: n f 1) firmness, faithfulness, truth 1a) sureness, reliability 1b) stability, continuance 1c) faithfulness, reliableness 1d) truth 1d1) as spoken 1d2) of testimony and judgment 1d3) of divine instruction 1d4) truth as a body of ethical or religious knowledge 1d5) true doctrine adv 2) in truth, truly

I read another definition that tied faithfulness to integrity. So he is saying love and faithfulness should never leave us and then in keeping His word we will win a good name with God and man. So no matter the lie...please believe that God blesses our obedience to Him. This doesn't mean that we might win popularity contests or anything but look at Jesus in Luke 2:52
"And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men."

Faithfulness is something that we are not very good at in this day and age. I have grieved many times at my own lack of faithfulness to God and I have had to accept His forgiveness and go on with Him. The Lord has made it very clear to me that I have to resolve to be a person of integrity or I won't be one at all.
1 Kings 18:21 puts it perfectly to me:
21 Elijah went before the people and said, "How long will you waver between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him." But the people said nothing.

The LORD cares nothing for me wavering between this world and its cravings and the continual lust for more and Him. I have to choose. If I am not firm about it and do not have a plan...I will waver and falter every time. Verse five is what gets me and I am taking this one believing that "All Scripture is God Breathed": 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
Trust is the Hebrew word batach {baw-takh'}
Meaning: 1) to trust, trust in to have confidence, be confident, to be bold, to be secure, to cause to trust, make secure to feel safe. The Lord was in essence telling me "Jenny, put your trust in me. Your confidence in me. Rely on Me. Have confidence in my character, that I am who I say I am, who My word tells you that I am. I am your fortress, your stronghold. STOP with your own efforts, cease striving, run to me when your feelings tell you otherwise; when this world tells you otherwise. I will not let you down...EVER!" I wish that I could promise to never let Morgan down, but I can't make that promise. Tonight, when we were at the mall...she got to ride the carousel again. She had me in a head lock and she shook as she rode round and round. I laughed so hard and reassured her that mommy would not let her go and that she could enjoy the ride. Nope...headlock it was. I have been that way so often...so weak, so feeble, and I just had to hold on to God's word and ride. He has then taught me to trust even at times when I have backtracked and forgotten...He held me. So the Lord doesn't want us to lean on our own worldly "if it feels good...do it" understanding. He says, bring your heart to me. Pour it out. I can take it. If what you are acting on does not line up with my word it is a lie and you are being had. Let me tell you it is really hard to not lean on your own understanding when you have a mountain in front of your face that has not budged in years. It is hard not to lean on your understanding when your marriage, family, career, health, and etc are in the toilet as far as you see it. It is the easy, yet damaging thing to do to rely on your understanding and try to do what Sarai and Abram did and help God out (which equals product of the flesh-Ishmael) instead of waiting on Him to come through with your Isaac, to change things, to deliver on His word, to deliver you from self or whatever else. Our natural inclination is to say...you know what God, I have been believing You and have been obedient and you just didn't come through for me...so I am going to help You out (as if) and go my way, and do things my way. It will be the death of us every time.

Here is a definition from the Hebrew for heart (trusting Him with ALL of it)
"leb {labe}
Meaning: 1) inner man, mind, will, heart, understanding 1a) inner part, midst 1a1) midst (of things) 1a2) heart (of man) 1a3) soul, heart (of man) 1a4) mind, knowledge, thinking, reflection, memory 1a5) inclination, resolution, determination (of will) 1a6) conscience 1a7) heart (of moral character) 1a8) as seat of appetites 1a9) as seat of emotions and passions 1a10) as seat of courage"

Then He would what? He would make our paths straight. Over and over in the word you will see that the path of the perverse and the wicked is a crooked path that leads to death. The enemy has an agenda and he wants us to leave the straight path and get on the crooked one. Check out the first several chapters of Proverbs for yourself. So again, trust in Him will everything, lean not on your limited understanding of things. You and I don't see the Big picture. We are limited. Let God be true and every man a liar. The study on Daniel has really been a faith booster for me to see how God has fulfilled His word through the ages. He said it before it ever came to being. Think about it.
Don't be wise in your own eyes...fear the Lord. Fear means to reverence and Awe and then we are told to shun evil.
Shun is the word meaning depart, turn aside, depart away from, turn away from, to avoid. It reminds me of repentance. To turn from something or maybe even someone. To avoid is like an alcoholic going to a bar thinking that they won't take a drink...you can't put yourself in the situation thinking that you will be able to stand up against temptation.
We are to shun evil. What exactly is evil? Well here it is the word ra' meaning several things:
harm, evil, bad, malignant, in general, of persons, of thoughts, misery, distress, injury, wrong (ethically or morally), sad, unhappy, hurtful, unkind...

Seriously, and this is first hand experience, we are to shun evil because it is harmful and it takes the health from our bones. It is injurious, always, all the time. Life, joy, peace, and abundance are only found in obedience.
NOW LAST BUT NOT LEAST....it is 2am...I am so tired of the saying "Bloom where you are planted!" Some of us are blooming all right! And we are bearing bad fruit because God did not mean for us to stay where we or the enemy have us planted. He wants anything that is not bearing fruit to be chopped down so we can heal and grow. Some of us need to move out from where we have been and go on with God...not staying where we have become comfortable, complacent and dangerous. I am sick of the enemy and his lies. He is the father of lies. We serve the Victorious One who has already defeated Him on Calvary and given us everything we need for life and godliness so let's live like it and not be fakes...I am sick of it.

Snore Relief

I forgot to mention what I got Rod for our anniversary! Snore Relief and some breathe right strips! What a stinking rip off! DO NOT BUY THE PRESS. I am taking it back. The second I walked in the room last night I heard the sawing of the logs...
Well, off to eat some Papa Johns!

Also, I bought into the Secret Rx strength deo...it didn't work for me. I know it has for others.

A Word to come

I have a word coming about ra' ....fearing God and shunning evil. It was a word for me and the Lord just went all over the place with me this morning! More to come...
The girl is screaming and we have to go to Sam's to buy milk-o-la. I can not believe the Wal-Mart brand was up to like almost five dollars yesterday, being the queen of thrift, I could not bring myself to pay those outlandish prices for some milk.

First off, I DO NOT, I repeat...I DO NOT drink milk. If I were in a third world country I would...so don't go there with me...but I am not. There was a booger from a boy named Larry in the second grade on my milk carton so I have never drank it again. ISSUES! Not to mention milk smells bad and since I smell EVERYTHING before I eat or drink it...I will not drink it. Morgan started this to. She even smells her crayons...I know we are weird. The way I look at it...if something smells bad...it is bad and it will taste bad. Case in point sea roaches: I can't even get started on crab...it is so disgusting. And I have a word for people's breath that partake: "Butt breath!"

PS!

I forgot to mention that Baby's daddy got me a new i-pod for our anniversary! Look Out!!! It is a hot pink nano so I will really be getting my groove on with all the storage!
An i-pod and the Olive Garden...what a nice day.

Did she ski or not?

I am back from a two day excursion to the lake. Good times....
I am so tired though. I had full intentions of skiing when the other night I rounded the corner and "depth perception" girl didn't make the clear with her foot...thus injuring two toes. I so thought I broke them but they were just jammed. I am about to download my pics from the past few days. I went tubing instead...ya'll I am truly an 80 year old trapped in a younger body. My little sister and I got out on the tube and I got so tickled...laughing. We got started and she kept screaming hold on while I laughed and laughed and it took all energy out of me to where I was just holding on for dear life getting beat by the water!! Then, to my horror we began to hit some big (TIDAL j/k) waves. I could feel my bathing suit bottoms starting to come off. I got the biggest body beating of my life...I wish you could have seen it. I let go quick to save myself any embarrassment and I stayed in tact praise You Lord! My nephew is so funny and very inquisitive. Over the last few days he would say "you know what?" about EVERYTHING...he is eight and I kept wanting to say back to him "chicken butt that's what!" But I couldn't teach him those bad manners...then finally...last night I broke down and taught it to him. If you don't get what I am saying...I am sorry. Anyway, PEOPLE I walked into the back bedroom at the lake and my nephew had something in my room that caught my eye...THE FIRST NINTENDO! I beat everybody that new how to push some buttons on that thing. I am sorry but I just rule at Mario One. You do not know who you are dealing with. The younger kids kept trying to tell me how to play and I was having to control my fleshly side...they had no idea that they were indeed dealing with an 80's child who grew up on Mario and could beat it in one man. Ice Ice Baby People! I know why I have no games at the house besides Tetris (which I keep locked up in the drawer for self control). Anyway, it made me want to go to ShowBiz (Chuckie Cheese) after all those good times.

Then last night I got in the boat and went to see the fireworks. I was so much more impressed with the stars and Psalm 8 just kept running through my mind. I did serenade everyone in the boat with my songs of Patriotism. I can not sing well so I really kicked it up a notch and made it a whole lot worse. When I forgot my lines...I just made them up. Good thing it was dark.

ps Donna I was going to meet up with you but the internet wasn't working and I forgot the cds ;(

The Making of A Ministry

My friend Donna sent this to me...I have been trying to get her to do her own blog....maybe she will. This is so good.

July 2, 2007

Francis Frangipane:

"THE MAKING OF A MINISTRY"

"The disciples came to Him, saying, 'The place is desolate, and the time is already past; so send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages and buy food for themselves.' But Jesus said to them, 'They do not need to go away; you give them something to eat!' And they said to Him, 'We have here only five loaves and two fish'" (Matthew 14:15-17).

I want to talk about how the Lord raises up a mature man or woman of God--the drives and attitudes that propel a person into a fully committed walk with Jesus Christ. It is essential to realize from the beginning that, when it comes to doing God's will, both the person and God's provision will always seem inadequate. Oh, you will have been prepared, somewhat. You will have studied and prayed, but not enough. You will have faithfully given of your time and finances, but nothing you do will be something you can confidently rely upon. Indeed, when you've done all you could, you will mutter to the Lord your equivalent of the disciples': "We have here only five loaves and two fish."

Yet, to know that you are inadequate is a tremendous advantage in spiritual growth. It is a milestone en route toward true spirituality, which is born of dependency on God, not human self-sufficiency. Once a person knows he is inadequate, he will not waste years discovering it.

Not a day goes by that I am not aware of my inadequacies. Besides struggling with "feelings" of inadequacy, I know I actually am inadequate. I know the very best of my efforts, in and of themselves, are totally insufficient. The moment I think otherwise, I guarantee failure for myself.

While the Lord has many ways to inspire my spiritual growth, the greatest seasons of increase come almost in spite of myself. The process begins with the Lord revealing some task or need that is both absolutely necessary and totally impossible for me to fulfill. My first reaction is to pray, "Lord, raise up someone who'll do the job." But then, when no one else shows up, I realize He wants me to step forward. As I do, I soon hear Him say the words He spoke to His disciples, "You give them something to eat."

Sometimes, I hide in the "familiar" tasks I know I can accomplish, but a time of reckoning comes. It usually is a time of pressure or stress which, beginning with the rediscovery of my frailties, ends with me broken and waiting upon the Lord. It is right here, as I am contemplating the pitifully small "five loaves and two fish" which I am offering Jesus, that He says to my heart, "Bring them here to Me." And here is where the miracle of grace begins. For as I surrender myself afresh into His hands, a new dimension in my walk with God starts to unfold, one of supernatural multiplication.

"He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up toward Heaven, He blessed the food, and breaking the loaves, He gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave to the multitudes, and they all ate and were satisfied" (vs. 19-20).

Whatever you give to Jesus, He will bless and break. A true disciple always carries these two seeming contradictory characteristics. We know His wonderful, undeserved blessing; and, we are broken of pride, self-sufficiency and boasting. He lets us know assuredly that, as Christians, we have one Source for all of our power. The sooner we realize our effectiveness does not originate in us, but in Christ, the quicker we will experience the miracles that He produces. Indeed, when He reveals to us our weaknesses, it is only because He is preparing us to receive more of His power into our lives.

Consider: When Jesus performed the miracle of the loaves and fish, He and His disciples were wearied and needed strength. Added to this came the distressing news that John the Baptist had been beheaded. The Lord was seeking to take His disciples to a place where they could "rest awhile" (Mark 6:31). Yet, great multitudes came, perhaps over twelve thousand men, women and children. It was in this very circumstance of weakness that He performed this great miracle of grace.

As it was with Jesus, so it is with us: It is when we sense our weaknesses most vividly that God can use us most mightily! The Lord will continually present to us tasks that we have never done before. He will require each of us to give our all, even as inadequate as we seem. There will be no "knights in shining armor" in God's kingdom; our armor will have many dings and dents. No perfect Hollywood heroes will ride in to save the day; just wearied saints to look to God and, in weakness, find Christ's strength. This, indeed, is the essence of God's Kingdom: Divine greatness manifest in common people.

In these days ahead, the Lord is going to show you a need that will seem absolutely beyond your ability to perform. Your natural response will be, "I'm just an average person with limited resources. I can't do what He's asked me to do." Yet, if you will be still, you shall soon hear your Master's voice quietly, confidently saying, "Bring the need to Me."

Do as He commands. For as you give the insufficiency of your skills and your pitiful provisions to Him, He will begin to bless and break you, and then miraculously multiply what you give Him. In all my years of ministry, I know of no transforming grace greater than that which comes when, in spite of our inadequacies, we obey God in the face of the impossible.

The Consequence of Criticism

THIS IS SO GOOD! -Jenny

The Consequence of Criticism

By Dr. James MacDonald
www.walkintheword.com

Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Cushite woman whom he had married, for he had married a Cushite woman. And they said, "Has the Lord indeed spoken only through Moses? Has he not spoken through us also?" And the Lord heard it.
Numbers 12:1-9 1

Moses could have written a book on how to cope with cranky people. As the leader of the masses out of Egypt, Moses endured far more criticism than he deserved. In Numbers 14, we read how God sent a whole bunch of people to die in the desert because of their incessant complaining. When Moses’ own family picked up the sour song, God came to Moses’ defense. To Miriam and Aaron, He said, “Why then were you not afraid to speak against My servant, Moses? So the anger of the Lord burned against them” (Numbers 12:8). In other words, just who do you think you are criticizing Moses like that?

Notice God’s deep feelings. He didn’t wait for their explanations, and they didn’t wait long for the consequences. God just said, Enough. He hates it when we dwell on the perceived faults of another with no view to their good.

You don’t have to be a Bible scholar to feel God’s heat in this true account. He considers criticism a sin and He won’t tolerate it. Obviously, we want to soften that judgment and call criticism a weakness or a bad habit or poor people skills. While criticism is all that, it’s also a whole lot more.

Today, if you have a critical attitude toward someone, you are hindering your fellowship with God. He hears that bitter spirit come out in your words and wants nothing to do with it. Makes you wonder, if your spiritual life feels like a wilderness right now—dry, cheerless, and joyless—maybe it’s because you’ve allowed a critical attitude to creep in. It’s a choice that not only injures your horizontal relationship with others, but also your vertical relationship with God.

It’s our choice. When He says, “Don’t!” what He really means is, “Don’t hurt yourself!” When God says, “Don’t criticize,” it’s not because He wants to deprive us of some satisfactory experience. He is actually saying, “That goes against the nature of who I have made you to be.” Fish were made to swim. Birds were made to fly. People were made to live in fellowship with God. When we criticize others, we break that fellowship with God. We hinder our own joy, and life becomes like a wilderness.

The Throne

His word truly is alive and active...with time spent, it just gets down deep. Right now I am staying close to the throne (notice the little "t"). This would be the porcelain throne to find help in time of need. It reminds me of how I need to come boldly before the Throne of Grace! This morning I got on the carpet and confessed before His Throne the following words from Isaiah:

Isaiah 6:5
5 "Woe to me!" I cried. "I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty."

I am so thankful for Jesus and that the Temple curtain was torn in two with His death on the cross...He made the way for us to approach Him with confidence and boldness. I told Him in prayer even this morning that my sins have deserved death and that if I had gotten what I had deserved I would have been swallowed alive in the ground. He is so Holy. He cannot look at sin...and I am clay, dust, and sinful. He has been so merciful to me...Psalm 130 has been my song for this season.

Hebrews 4:14-16
14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, {14 Or gone into heaven} Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.
15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are-- yet was without sin.
16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Seriously though I am giving it some thought and wondering why it is 1:22am and I get hit with the stomach issues at night? Why not during the day? I think I need to stop eating for real...my body agrees with nothing!

On another note, when you see me passing bye you might think...man Jenny sure is shining...has she been on the Mount of Transfiguration....NO!!! It will be the clear gloss hair dye that I am going to put in my hair...it should make it shine for months. That is what they told me at Sally's.

Shake and Bake

While other children are singing sweet little songs like "The wheels on the bus go round and round" my child rocks out to her mothers praise mix. Tonight, I knew there were problems when she started shaking to the Toby Mac cd especially the part that says..."shake it, but don't break it, it took your momma nine months to make it"...hilarious!! Don't you love how we were just born to love music (Psalm 8:2 From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise {2 Or strength} because of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.)? I get my work out praise dancing with her...and yes we are baptist!

Today was a day where I just laughed myself to death! We went to Lifeway to pre-order the new "God Made You Special" Veggie Tales dvd. One thing that is a little sad is that I think I might like these movies more than she does. I cracked up with all of the workers about the flip flops they are selling. The ad said "Let the Light of Christ Shine as You Wear These." I asked them if I was going to be able to share the gospel by wearing those flops?!??! We all laughed so hard. I ran into Christa from my bible study and just ask her...me and Morgan know how to make a scene. Morgan saw a boy running in the store and she was so tickled that she laughed so loud (from the gut) that she had everyone in the store staring at her and laughing with her. Then, we went to the mall to ride the carousel. We got on the horse and that little thing was just a trembling. She held on to me as the horse went up and down...then she decided that she was born to ride the carousel. Her mother begged to differ since it is two dollars a ride. She started laughing once again so hard...then she began a screaming laughter...soon the whole food court was staring...I am not even kidding. I about died!!! When we got off she did the whole arch the back...I will show you...I am not getting in my stroller. A sweet lady held the stroller steady as I tried to get her in it while she put up a fight. It is never good enough...that is our nature...we are born sinners. I am not sure why either but when I should be getting on to her...I start laughing and I can't stop. It is not good. I forgot to mention that we went to Burger King and nosey had to talk and stare at everyone in the place. She really wins people over...so much that she got 2 toys in her kids meal, not just one. She sat on the counter while i ordered for her and would say mmmmmmmmmmmmm' VERY LOUD to let everyone know that she was about to get some good stuff. Before she went upstairs to go to bed she dumped a whole bowl of animal crackers on the floor...and I hear mmmmmmmm' I had to cover my face with my shirt to get on to her so she wouldn't see me laughing. It really was funny. She then decided that she needed to see my face so she pulled my shirt off of it and then I really laughed and ended up cleaning up the crackers myself. This discipline thing isn't going to good when your child is a little comedian...don't worry I will get it under control. Also, let me just say she is a girl after her mothers own heart. When she is getting in trouble, like when Rod was watching her and I heard another mmmmmm' from the kitchen and she showed me her soft-baked, delicious, chocolate chip cookie...she quickly brought me a scripture card. What she was saying is read this so I can eat my cookie. How can I not give it to her then??? I have a box of verses and we read them at the table when she and I eat. She goes through them and hands them to me and I read them. So it was only natural to give me one with the cookie. She is learning. I do really enjoy the teachable moments...I am trying to get scripture in her early since Timothy knew the scriptures from infancy:
2 Timothy 3:14-17
14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it,
15 and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

We have a gate that closes off the kitchen from the den and when she stands at the gate I tell her these verses each time and loudly (I hope she doesn't think she is the King of glory since I say it to her every time):

Psalm 24:7-10
7 Lift up your heads, O you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.
8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.
10 Who is he, this King of glory? The LORD Almighty-- he is the King of glory. Selah

I am so thankful for the joy of this precious youngun' and the ab workout she gives me each day with laughter!

I have a post that I am working on...but until then I just wanted to share for those of you who have seen My Big Fat Greek Wedding...I am the man with the windex. I seriously have issues. They have the new antibacterial Windex...Jenny is good friends with this! I seriously can go through a bottle of that in 2 weeks flat. Not only that I went to Advance Auto Parts this afternoon to get something to clean my O2 sensor in the 4-runner and I found ahhh yes what I have been hunting for the past several weeks...my sweet WD-40 pen. Get one...it cleans scuff marks off of everything...doors, walls (egg-shell painted) and etc. Walmart has either hidden them or isn't carrying them ;(. Also, don't blame me if none of these things work for you but the Magic Eraser is another thing...who comes up with this stuff?? I use it to clean the leather couches...nothing works like it! My friends and family make fun of my cleaning supplies...but it is just something for the OCD girl!

Get a life, right?
