For those of you that may be checking in Yes! We will be meeting for Bible study tomorrow night at 6:30pm in room S110-112 at Hunter Street Baptist. If you have not joined, it is not to late. We are starting session 2. We did not meet last week or the week before due to Summer Quest. Here is a link to Daniel if you want to check it out!
If you need any information please email me at williams4676@bellsouth.net or call me at
Also, we are going to do "Wising Up" next by Beth, this is a study on Proverbs. It is dvd driven with no homework. I don't know about you but I could use some wising up! This is the study she did at Houston recently. The church has this on order for us! I CAN NOT WAIT!!!! This is one that I really want you to invite your friends to. Especially anyone who is new to the Word...it will be a great starting point!! Let me know if you are interested. I have not decided yet but I may do this one on Sunday nights and keep a Tuesday night study going as well. That is totally going to be a matter of prayer...either way we are doing it!

don't tell anyone
Don't tell anyone but I am breaking free (Beth Moore) again. This is like my sixth time so this time I am only reading the book. I don't like to use the same workbook twice because it can promote laziness in my case and I might skip some exercises. I couldn't bring myself to buy the workbook again since I just purchased another "A Womans Heart."
I wanted to share a brief quote in regard to human leadership. She was going over the Kings of Israel and how none of them were immune to pride no matter who the leader or how Godly they were. She was encouraging believers to ask God daily to guard them against pride and here is the quote I love:
"If our liberty in Christ is going to be a reality in life, we are going to have to learn to walk in the freedom of Christ, independent of everyone else we know." Beth Moore
Not only do you and I need to be aware of pride but we need to be aware of areas of unbelief. Ask God to reveal them to you. I know several areas currently that I am not walking in belief over. In my head I know the scripture but my actions deny that I am believing it. The Lord and I are going to work on this now.
Another thing I have been thinking about is friendship. We may unknowingly influence others, but we also are being influenced in some shape or form. This led me this weekend to pray over my friendships. Are you and I being negatively impacted by the people we call friends or are we becoming more like Christ as a result of our friendships? There have been deadly combinations along this journey in my life that have had to be cut off. I love a statement that Beth Moore's husband Keith, has taught their family: "Saying goodbye is a necessary life skill." He is so right and I couldn't have put it any better. There are some people that we need to say goodbye to along the way so we can press on to know Christ. We may be the one that someone needs to part company with so they can go on with Jesus. I was faced with a difficult situation a couple of years ago. Their was a person that I had a heart for, but every time I was around this person I felt caught up in a web of gossip. I am not saying that I was not guilty. I was guilty at times just for listening and not speaking up. I began to pray that the LORD would cut off that relationship because no matter any attempt I made to bring it back to the cross...it failed and in turn I always felt drained and defeated. Our relationships with others should seek to glorify God and edify each other. I have a very hard time saying goodbye. There are also memories that we need to say goodbye to. If we are lingering in the past over past relationships, or things that are exalting themselves over God...we need to say goodbye. Yes, their is a need to acknowledge that certain things in our life happen for a season but there is a time to let go and move on. I can not tell you how much time (in my head) that I have spent living in the past, when God wants me to MOVE ON! We can not spend forever wondering what might have been...we have to go on with God to live in the present or we will miss out! I know from experience. Dwelling in the past, refusing to let go of hurts, or the fact that things don't turn out like you planned will rob you of joy and contentment. I have had to pray very recently that God would help me to get over some things that were robbing me and help me to say GOODBYE!
Most of my precious friends are single adults. They love Jesus with a tenacity that I love to be around. I know for me, when I was single, it was hard to say goodbye to dating relationships that didn't work out. There were some relationships where I dearly and genuinely loved the person along the way but that person was not who God had for me. I can remember writing notes and trying to say goodbye because of reasons known to me, I knew I couldn't stay where I was and it was so hard because saying goodbye was almost worse than a death. With death you have some closure through grieving (even still our hearts long for eternity and we all really hate goodbyes), but with the ending of a relationship their is sometimes rejection, but things just can't stay the same no matter what. I have lost friendship that was dear to me and had to say goodbye because I was for one reason or another, completely out of God's will for my life. He wouldn't let me have rest in those relationships and to stay meant to forfeit peace...I couldn't do that. Then there were other relationships that were not so dear to me (stalker, psycho types) that I couldn't wait to see go...NO PROBLEM..don't let the door hit you on the way out! You know what I mean. Either way if our relationships aren't lining up...we need to line up with Christ and follow Him even if it costs us saying goodbye and hurting. We can come to Him and allow Him to stop our bleeding hearts and bandage our wounds. He is so near in the times where we hurt the most, if we will let Him in. I know personally! We also do have to make allowances in our relationships to others. We will all fail and let each other down. You will only see God have unfailing love toward you...no one else. We are clay and we are tainted by sin at times and don't always see things clearly. We can't cut everyone off for making a mistake or none of us would be friends. However still our friendships should bear fruit that is good. If you are lonely and don't have a close friend ( I have been there) pray for one. He knows what you need before you ask...even still it will be in His timing. I went a long time without a close friend in my teen years and God taught me to rely on Him like no other during that time. Ask Him to strengthen the friendships that you have. Gotta go play with my girl!
Proverbs 27:17
17 As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.
Proverbs 17:17
17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
9 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work:
10 If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!
11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?
12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
NIV Ecclesiastes 3:1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:
2 a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
6 a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.

Shake, shake, shake
Matthew 6:19-20
Treasures in Heaven
19"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
Many of you that know me will know that I have never been a big television fan. This goes way back so I am not trying to say that you aren't spiritual if you watch tv. Those of you that have been my friends since the single days have often joked about the combination of Rod and I. When you came over to my house (where bachelor man had lived alone for 5 years prior) you snickered about the very large, giant, mega sized (yes these words have the same meaning) television in the living room. A man's home movie theater if there ever was one. Well, old Betsy finally blew up..I personally think she was struck by lightning! Rod is saying that he is going to fix her, which he is pretty handy, but we will see. Don't tell him I said this but I have seen his research in progress for an HD tv already :). Don't worry though he pulled the tv out of our bedroom (PRAISE THE LORD) and it is housed on top of the broken BIG screen. We will probably have to have a memorial service to get her out of the living room...he is just not ready for that. He will be getting another big one and he has already put his foot down about that. I tried to argue and by asking what is wrong with the one from our bedroom. To which he replied "Babe, you can't see it!" ...heaven forbid. I had a tv that was given to me when I was single and I turned it on...oh about one time in four years to watch the 9/11 attack. When I was sick recently, and no offense for what I am about to say, I flipped through and thought to myself you must have to be really bored to sit here flipping through these channels. That is just my opinion ;). To add to the list of broken things around the house: my check engine light just came on, Rod's trailer tire is rotted out, our computer monitor just bit the dust, my keyboard on my laptop is missing a few keys (I have a new keyboard ordered for her), the hot water heater is leaking...let's see what else I can bore you with...Rods tower fan and hair dryer just died (he has to have noise and so do all of us now that we live together. I now can not sleep without a fan going. He put a ceramic heater in Morgan's room and he runs the fan on it for her so it will crank out some white noise so she can sleep...thank you Rod!). This is all part of every day living...things wear out! I was touching up some paint on the doors a few minutes ago, and spot cleaning the carpet (those are a couple of things I can't stand) and was reminded of just how decaying this world really is. Here are some verses that I especially love to be reminded of when I start clinging a little more tightly to my "earthly treasures" which really aren't mine anyway:
Hebrews 12:22-27
22But you have come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, 23to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the judge of all men, to the spirits of righteous men made perfect, 24to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.
25See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven? 26At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, "Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens."[e] 27The words "once more" indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.
28Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29for our "God is a consuming fire."[f]

My Father
My heart was aching tonight over so many things that I have let build up. Rod made me so furious that I couldn't see straight when he told me that I wasn't organized tonight at 10:30pm. I began to go on another rampage trying to prove myself and throwing everything away in sight. I'll show him I said to myself. He always knows where to get me. This is not about him though...it is really about my pride. No matter what I have ever done in life it seemed like it was never good enough...the bar was always so high and when I reached it...it got raised a little more. I tried so hard as a child to "do" and to make someone proud. I always felt such a deep need for love and acceptance at an early age and I would go around with an unspoken question, do you love me? There were always conditions and restraints. I would hear things like "you used to do this" or even better "you used to be this way." I strived for all A's in school with occasional B's. I was so scared of letting others down. I can remember sharing a room with my two sisters and I would so proudly write my name on the back of all of my honor roll ribbons and pin them up on my bulletin board. I would even post my report cards up for them to see that yes once again Jenny made the honor roll. In my attempt to feel good about myself I would put them down for their grades not being as good as mine. I have since then apologized numerous times for my foolishness and low self-esteem. They both have shrugged it off. I grew up in a very competitive home. With five kids you have to fight for attention, or at least we did. My sister Heather was first chair flutest in the symphonic band, she was a majorette, and I always thought she was prettier than me. She had and still does have a lot going for her. My sister Holly (my twin) she is very artisitic, she could play piano by ear, draw anything, and sing like nobody's business. She was number one in the state at playing her flute and she too was a majorette. I come from a musically gifted family and extended family. My grandfather could sing and play the piano better than anyone I have ever heard. He was the first person that I ever remember impacting me for Jesus. I would sit at night and listen as he would read my grandmother the bible. I wanted so bad to fit in with the musicians in the family but there were a few problems, I can't sing, I am tone deaf, and I have no coordination. My spine is shaped wrong at the top where the skull rests which makes me well not so flexible. All I could do was run. Instead of run Forrest run...it was run Jenny run. I was an obsessive compulsive cleaner from a very early age. During the impressionable years I wondered in the days of talent shows, what are my talents? I couldn't be a part of a talent show unless it meant jogging in place on a stage or making a bed the neatest, or better yet I could show people how to polish their brass fixtures, or how to get the vacuum lines in the carpet perfect as long as everyone hopped from couch to couch there would be no footprints (you think I am joking ask my sisters). I am sure people would be amazed at all of that talent. I took up cross-country and track and I was pretty good at it. Over all I was a goob...lets just be honest. Then I turned to trying to find love and acceptance from boys or friends. I truly felt like my life was just not important until I met Jesus. I wish I could say that it all snapped together after that and I just started living for the Lord and being obedient...but that is not how it happened. The Lord has been sanctifying me ever since I had a head on collision at the cross. I told Him in prayer tonight that I was so embarrassed at my own foolishness and the mistakes I have made so far in ministry that I can't believe He would still let me serve. I am so thankful that He knows the heart and sees past, present, and future and that He is not limited by time. I still scratch my head at some of the prideful, self-righteous things I have said or done along the way. For everyone you can be sure that I have had an equally humbling experience to go along with it.
I was cleaning and organizing (even though I am so stubborn and should be in bed since I have been oh so sick) and I came apon a picture of me when I was 2 1/2. I said Lord who was this girl? Was she loved? Was she accepted? Was there a plan for her? I just spilled out my heart to God and cried and prayed tonight. I know it was meant for me to see that little Jenny tonight. For Him to reassure me in my spirit that I am loved by Him, that I was chosen, set apart before the foundations of the world, that I would be His child and He would be my Father. In my search for meaning I found Him. In my desperation and despair, He came to me. I told Him tonight that I was so sorry for looking at others through the eyes of judgment, that after all this tattered and torn girl had been through, I was so sorry for ever picking up my stone to cast at another. How easy it is to forget the quarry from which you have been mined from. I prayed today that God would restore my soul, and He is doing that. I have been through so much lately, a lot that I can't even begin to speak about, and the Lord used that sweet little picture to in some way through His word that I have hidden in my heart to tell me that He loves me, He takes great delight in me, and He sings over me. I felt Him quiet me with His love as I told Him that I needed Him to hold me. And if you have made it this far in reading this please say a prayer for Morgan. She started getting sick tonight with a major explosion from the rear...sorry for the graphics... and immediately my mind goes to "viral meningitis". I just pray she doesn't get that.
One more thing, because I need to go to bed. Not only when I found Christ, my treasure, did He give me significance and acceptance (for those of you that have never struggled with any of this I am really glad for you), He gave me a gift. He gave me a gift to teach. I know it is from Him because I can't help but share everything, this has not stopped in almost 9 years. People will tell me oh you are really on fire for God. I guess you are supposed to burn out and be lit again but that has not been the case for me. I am not in some phase that I will soon get over. Jesus is the real deal and I can tell you from the bottom of my sould through sticking with Him, choosing to believe that He forgives me and that we have work to do...I can't help but share about Him...it is not something that you have to work at to talk about if you are having an active relationship. I kid with my friends now that I know why He didn't give me a great voice, cheerleading ability, or the hand of an artist. I would be like okay, I am going to teach, then I will bless you in song, maybe paint you a picture (for worship) and do a few cartwheels while I am up here. It would not have been good for the kingdom. One thing I love about our relational God is that when we cry out to Him and He answers in whatever way He chooses, we come to Know Him and He is so very real and personal. Just tonight in getting things off of my chest to Him...I could feel His love and presence (through His Word in my heart for all of you cynics) to where His love for me is not just words on a page it is real and live (even though I may forget for a time or not feel it). As I stared at that picture I cried and told Him how thankful I am for Morgan because she has been such a minister of His grace and love toward me ever since she got here. I never knew the capacity of love that my heart could have for this little one (and in the midst of me thinking I was going to die in the last couple of weeks I remembered me and Morgan have some work to do against the kingdom of darkness). Then the Lord constantly reassures me in my spirit that my love for her pales in comparison to His love for me. Happy Fathers Day...Abba...I love you so.
Thanks for letting me share...it did good for my soul tonight.
Now that it is 3am I am going to slip in the bed and rest.
Psalm 103:12-14
12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
13 As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him;
14 for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.
ps...even cooler I just looked at the memory verse for the day and realized that the LORD had just spoken these same words in my heart before I ever looked at that verse! He cracks me up with all that repetition. ;)

A word from Shelly
This word was such a blessing to me tonight. My head was hurting from this spinal headache so I read a few Psalms and decided to hit the bed. I layed there listening to all of the different octaves Rod could reach while he was snoring. Seriously, maybe he is making a joyful noise in his sleep or something. I take that. I knew the Lord was calling me to come spend a little more time with Him...
Then I read Shelly's post, she is one of my blogging friends. I wanted you to be blessed if you have the time to read this.

Two years ago
My sweet friend Jessica saves her emails and sometimes when I am struggling she will send me something that I wrote her. It is so timely that God uses her to remind me of things that He has taught me but I have to relearn. I am so thankful for her...she sends me scripture and encourages me in the Lord on days where I feel like giving up or that I have just out sinned myself. Here is one I sent her almost 2 years ago that she sent me back today. I needed it and thought I would share.
I was doing my bible study the other day and it was talking about
peace. I was thinking about it and peace is not an absence of
emotion. We can still hurt and stuff and have Jesus' peace. I was
thinking about the times when I don't experience peace and it is
always when i am not submitted to the authority of Christ.
I fall so short but I truly want to be obedient. I get so clouded
sometimes. I was studying yesterday about being the apple of God's
eye and in the hebrew the word for apple is actually pupil. the part of the eye that
we see. I thought it was so cool that Gods focus is soley on
us (His children). That He is constantly aware of everything and that He wants us
to guard His word which is Him as the apple of our eyes. He so
desires relationship and intimacy with us. I was thinking about how
He does not ask us to do anything that will harm us but only better
us. yet i get so deceived into thinking that I need to do my own
thing and go my own way. He loves us so much yet i can be so
willing to settle for a counterfeit! LORD help me!!!
Psalm 17:8
8 Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy
wings,
KJV Proverbs 7:1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments
with thee.
2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine
eye.
3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine
heart.
Zec 2:
8 For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me
unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you
toucheth the apple of his eye.

My Determined Purpose, To Know Him, To Take Hold of Christ
After day eleven of being sick, it was time no matter how much I pushed myself to get out of the house. I waited until it was almost dark to avoid my sensitivity to the light issues (if you want to read about spinal meningitis click here). Rod, Morgan and I loaded up and you guessed it...we headed to WalMart. Normally I go at it alone, well I take Morgan, but someone had to drive Mrs. Daisy. Several of the cashiers asked where I had been and one lady there was wanting me and Morgan to come to her sons birthday party (yes I met her at the store) so as I was about to pass out in the isle she was giving me directions to her sons party. I needed to go and get Morgan a few things for Mothers Day Out tomorrow. She went for the first time on Tuesday. She cried a lot and did not eat her lunch. If this keeps up and she doesn't adjust well...we will be having Mothers Day Out at my house. She is a Mommas girl through and through, just the way I like it, but she has been having some attachment issues when it comes to social situations. (Can you blame her? We have so much fun together who would want to leave this party?) That is okay with me. One day it won't be that way so I will take it while I can get it.
As I was sick I started to feel forgotten. I wondered if anyone cared about me?
Was my life making any difference? As I laid there throughout the past several days I only had very small amounts of time in the word. I was like "Lord, please if you are going to let me lay here at least let me get time with You." I was actually getting mad that I could not read since it hurt so much. The Lord taught me several things over the last few days. Hear me out when I say this I am not saying this to brag...over the last nine years I have not gone to sleep without reading my Bible. My plan is that I read in the morning, get some word throughout the day, and read before I go to sleep. It is especially so I can hear from Jesus, and lay any burdens down from the day. It is also another way of taking thoughts captive and setting my mind on things above. Well, growing up I so wanted the approval of an earthly father that it can be hard for me not to revert to that with God. The Lord taught me that it is okay for me to have not read those two nights because I was sick. It was a matter of the heart and He knows my heart. One night my twin sister had to read to me (even though it was KJV or what I would like to call the Shakespeare version it was the word). Then last night Rod said he was going to get his bible to read before he went to bed so of course I was like please come in the room and read to me. I could have died...He stood away from me in the bathroom and read me four of the strangest prophecy verses in Ezekiel that I have ever heard (because they were not in context it was one of those flip your bible open and read the first thing you come to). He shut the Bible and said goodnight. I was like are you serious? That's it? No one can keep it short like that man of mine. Then I called my little sister and asked her if she was near a bible she found one and began to read. I said "Steph , are you reading me from the Psalm 140's?" to which she replied "yes, how do you know that?" I love the Psalms so much and can relate so much that I read them every day. She read to me Psalm 143 through Gods word I was reminded by God as if He were saying Hey Jenny, you think I have forgotten you, listen to my word. I did feel forgotten even though I was not. The reason I think we often feel forgotten is our concept of God. We are so quick to reason that God is good when things are going well and our health is good and we have money in the bank. But is He good when we are sick and when we are lonely, when we feel forgotten? Do we extol Him then? Yes He is good! The doctor came in my room the first night and I kid you not I gave him my symptoms and this is what he said, "We need to check you for meningitis if you have bacterial it is deadly." I was like thanks for putting it so nicely. Then I asked him to hurry out so I could pray. The thought started going through my head...what if this is it? Then I said wait a minute...Lord I have spent time with You, I know Your voice...please give me a word before I start panicking. That word was in my spirit "this sickness will not end in death." I saw a shirt at Walmart that said save your drama for your mama. Well, I save mine for my daddy, because I can get pretty dramatic. Then I have the other voice of reason...Rod...He assured me "babe your not going to die, its just something viral." Don't you love it~
My point in saying this is that once again I really realized what He means to me and just how lost and hopeless I can get without Him and His presence. After tasting of the Lord I truly can't be satisfied apart from Him not the true satisfaction that only comes from Him. I told Him that if I couldn't know Him and take hold of Him that I wanted Him to go ahead and take me from this life. I am not saying that mothering, being a wife, cleaning my house, working unto the Lord, that all those things are not important...we have to do those things while we are here. What was saying is "Lord if I just do all of those without following hard after You then You can take me because all of it is meaningless apart from You." I am not satisfied with the latest mini-tv series, endless chatter, entertainment, spending up my time here sitting on a porch somewhere gossiping until I die, I am not satisfied with the mediocre. Do you ever look around and say "Jesus, is this what You died for? For my mundane living?" So many people are searching for purpose and for significance take for example the sales of "The Purpose Driven Life" and "Your Best Life Now". Let me sum up real quick for you where you will find purpose: In Jesus! In losing YOURSELF you will find true life. You will come to know Him when you search for Him and apply your heart to understanding. Then day by day you walk with Him. Sometimes He will have to carry you and other times you will walk side by side learning and living and doing through the pages of the Word and with the help of the Holy Spirit. I read neither of those books and I am not going to. I don't agree with Joel Osteen at all doctrinally and I don't have time to go into that. So what is your purpose? Why are you here? Christ means for you and I to be fruitful and He means for you to have fulfillment but it only comes in staying close to Him (and it is not the fulfillment that this world offers). I am just saying that I truly felt this week what the following passage describes about purpose and if I can't have Jesus I don't want to do this life for it would not be living at all.
Phil 3:8-11
8Yes, furthermore, I count everything as loss compared to the possession of the priceless privilege (the overwhelming preciousness, the surpassing worth, and supreme advantage) of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord and of progressively becoming more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him [of perceiving and recognizing and understanding Him more fully and clearly]. For His sake I have lost everything and consider it all to be mere rubbish (refuse, dregs), in order that I may win (gain) Christ (the Anointed One),
9And that I may [actually] be found and known as in Him, not having any [self-achieved] righteousness that can be called my own, based on my obedience to the Law's demands (ritualistic uprightness and supposed right standing with God thus acquired), but possessing that [genuine righteousness] which comes through faith in Christ (the Anointed One), the [truly] right standing with God, which comes from God by [saving] faith.
10[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [[b]which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope]
11That if possible I may attain to the [[c]spiritual and moral] resurrection [that lifts me] out from among the dead [even while in the body].

Jenny is Somewhat Back in the Land of the Living!
PRAISE BE TO GOD!
Thank you for all of your comments, emails, and calls. Sorry I have been so sensitive to light that I could not do much on the computer. Sound has made me nauseas and I have not been able to talk (not to mention I live with THE loudest man on the face)or hear loud things. I was pretty much hulled up in my bed with a towel over my head, throwing up or on the verge of, or I was taking some kind of medicine. Well, today is day 11 and I am typing without pain (yes it was viral spinal meningitis for those of you who asked). I am so thankful for each of you who prayed for me. Please pray for me family Rod calculated yesterday that we have had to spend almost $2000 in co-pays and prescriptions this year alone. There are only 3 of us! I know that not all illnesses are attacks it is a part of living in a fallen world. But I believe without a doubt that this one was. The enemy is trying to destroy me and my family. Please keep praying for us. Love jenny
Psalm 142
A maskil of David. When he was in the cave. A prayer. [a]
1 I cry aloud to the LORD;
I lift up my voice to the LORD for mercy.
2 I pour out my complaint before him;
before him I tell my trouble.
3 When my spirit grows faint within me,
it is you who know my way.
In the path where I walk
men have hidden a snare for me.
4 Look to my right and see;
no one is concerned for me.
I have no refuge;
no one cares for my life.
5 I cry to you, O LORD;
I say, "You are my refuge,
my portion in the land of the living."
6 Listen to my cry,
for I am in desperate need;
rescue me from those who pursue me,
for they are too strong for me.
7 Set me free from my prison,
that I may praise your name.
Then the righteous will gather about me
because of your goodness to me.

I wear my sunglasses at night
I wish I has something deeply spiritual to write about...but I don't. I am sitting here mustering up the strength to give my praying friends an update to their sweet comments. My head is hurting so much from light that I am having to wear sunglasses if I do go anywhere around the house. Speaking of the house it is falling apart without me.
So its, just lots of nausea, the worst headache of your life (for 8 days now) and throwing up, fever, neck and spine pain.
I really want and need to be well soon. Please keep praying.

This is me today
PLEASE keep praying...the pain doesn't seem to be letting up for me. Morgan has been with Rod's aunt and uncle all week. I am so glad for the help (because I can't take care of her)...but I am not one of those moms that likes to dump their kid off with other people and not talk to them for a week. I am having withdrawals from my little punkin. She won't talk on the phone to me because she is so busy. She is struggling with her ears and having trouble sleeping. I can't wait for her to get home. I hope she doesn't think we forgot about her. I have been in the bed listening to Beth Moore bring it on some old sermons. It is either that or the Paris Hilton saga and I really need Jesus to fill me right now. Paris needs Jesus and I feel sorry for her, we need to pray for her. Watching the news is an example of a family who thinks they are above reproach. I think it is easy to get in the limelight and think that you are above the law because of fame or money and that should not be the case. I hope she learns her lesson but I hope she will come to Jesus, I for one am not going to sit around and gloat over her. Look at Lindsay Lohan, the same thing she needs the Lord and is desperately trying to fill a void that money, fame, and people can not fill. It is very sad. It is a sad day when all our media can report on is the latest Britney, Paris, Lindsay, saga. What is it to a man if he gains the whole world yet forfeits his soul? I am so tired of our crazy media! It seems like all they report on is Hollywood. It must be getting the ratings because they keep it coming which says a lot about what the people want...to live vicariously through others and to get the latest gossip. Sad
This devotional from Experiencing God was written especially for me today.

Scripture:
By the rivers of Babylon--
there we sat down and wept
when we remembered Zion. (Ps. 137:1, Holman CSB)
Thought:
When the Israelite were exiles in Babylon, there was no place and seemingly no reason to worship. All they could do was cry and express their grief and anger. They did not seek a mission from God but cried to Him in hatred for vengeance on their enemies. Has your crisis of belief made you too desperate to have faith?
Prayer:
Now God what is wrong? Nothing is going right. Everything takes a wrong turn. I know I am supposed to worship and praise, but I see nothing to worship about. I am too mad to worship. Help me God. I want to worship. I want to love You. Show me how in this situation. Amen.

just what I needed today
I am praying that God would give me a holy hatred for the things He hates. This is so good.

O YOU WHO LOVE THE LORD, HATE EVIL!
Psalm 97:10 You have good reason to "hate evil," for just consider what harm it has already caused you. What a world of mischief sin has brought into your heart! Sin blinded you so that you could not see the beauty of the Savior; it made you deaf so that you could not hear the Redeemer's tender invitations. Sin turned your feet into the way of death and poured poison into the very fountain of your being; it tainted your heart and made it "deceitful above all things, and desperately sick."1 What a creature you were when evil had done its utmost with you, before divine grace intervened! You were an heir of wrath just like others; you ran with the crowd to do evil. We were all like this, but Paul reminds us, "but you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God."2 We have good reason, indeed, for hating evil when we look back and trace its deadly workings. We were in such a sorry state that our souls would have been lost if omnipotent love had not intervened to redeem us. Even now it is an active enemy, always looking for ways to harm us and to drag us to perdition. Therefore "hate evil," Christian, unless you desire trouble. If you want to cover your path with thorns and plant nettles in your pillow, then fail to "hate evil"; but if you would live a happy life and die a peaceful death, then walk in all the ways of holiness, hating evil right to the end. If you truly love your Savior and want to honor Him, then "hate evil." We know of no cure for the love of evil in a Christian like daily communion with the Lord Jesus. Be often with Him, and it is impossible for you to be at peace with sin.
Order my footsteps by Thy Word,
And make my heart sincere;
Let sin have no dominion, Lord,
But keep my conscience clear.

OH REALLY?
Isaiah 43
Israel's Only Savior
1 But now, this is what the LORD says—
he who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
"Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
2 When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
3 For I am the LORD, your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;
I give Egypt for your ransom,
Cush [a] and Seba in your stead.
I was back in the hospital today and I was in some excruciating pain. Jenny (yes, I often speak in third person)is not a happy camper on lots of doses of medicine. I couldn't get relief. Monday, the doctor said he gave me enough medicine to knock out a 250 lb man and it didn't touch me. I had 103-104 degree fever, throw up, the worst headache of my entire life, spine pain, and on and on. Anyway, by the time I waited 3 hours for the doctor to come in and the nurse to start my intravenous fluids I was pretty much screaming crying. Rods mom and sister took me to the hospital PRAISE the LORD! Then sweet Rod got there and began to help get me taken care of. The nurse came in and started talking to me and somehow she told me "Don't sweat the small stuff, its all small stuff." Since I was in rare form I threw caution to the wind and gave her my thoughts on that. I am sure she meant well and did not expect my reply. I told her that no it isn't all small stuff. The loss of a child isn't small, death, rejection, divorce, loneliness none of that is small. I would like to slap whoever wrote that book. If you have it throw it away!! :)My problems at times have been mountainous at times. Look at what David penned in the Psalms his problems went from bad to worse, he was on constant run from the enemy, look at the turmoil in his family. Look at Job, he cursed the day he was born, he loathed his life. Look at Solomon, he saw life as vanity a mere chasing after the wind. What about the Israelites in captivity in Egypt? What about a more modern example the Holocaust, the torturous evil that was done at the hands of men. I ran into a precious woman the other day who was in my last bible study she told me about her husband dying after so many years of marriage, she then later meets up with her high school sweetheart and they were to marry and he died. Tell me that was small stuff. Another sister in Christ is struggling with a horrible pregnancy and her dad only 51 years of age has a massive heart attack while turkey hunting and dies in the woods. Small stuff? I have a friend that is suffering from lung cancer and is terminal right now. Another friend who just recently divorced, she is in her 50's and this is just not how she thought it would turn out. She had to go back to work and life is just really hard for her right now. We know someone who just slit his wrists and is in the hospital, he needs Jesus and is crying out for attention. I have a family member who is struggling with severe depression.I have a half sister who's sister in law very recently committed suicide. She lost hope. Her problems were no longer small to her. Try telling her inconsible mother that it is no big deal. None of them got to say goodbye and her life was ripped away from them. They are all left with "what if's" in some way bearing a load of guilt that they could have helped her. A lady at our church went on mission to Paris, while she was there her husband (51 years old) died, she had to come back home to deal with that never getting to say goodbye. Another little girl at our church was struck in the back with a pole and you can read about that on my last prayer request post. I have another precious friend who just lost her mother to congestive heart failure. She never knew and didn't get to say goodbye. THESE ARE NOT SMALL THINGS!
The thing is we will go through difficulty and peril here and as the body of Christ we don't say leave your problems at the door. We need to bring them to the word and prayer and have others praying for us to help us get through the waters when we feel like we are going to drown and the flames when we feel like we are going to burn. We have to let His word heal us and allow each other the freedom to grieve and go through trials without putting expectations on each other or being so judgmental.

My Help Comes From the LORD
NIV Psalm 121:1 A song of ascents. I lift up my eyes to the hills-- where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip-- he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD watches over you-- the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD will keep you from all harm-- he will watch over your life;
8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

Job's Friends
Do you ever feel as if you are surrounded by Jobs friends (Job from the Bible)? Look no further than the account of his life to see how uncaring and big mouthed his friends where. They were the type of friends that come along and kick you while you are at your worst. I remember losing our first daughter and the ridiculous things people who were I guess well intended would say. They would say things like The Lord gives and the Lord takes away, God won't give you anymore than you can bear (that verse is SO incredibly misused it is referring to not being tempted beyond what we can bear). Some things in life are not bearable that is why we need Jesus and His grace to carry us at times. In the last 4 years I have dealt with multiple illnesses, rod broke his back, I had 2 horrible pregnancies, our daughter died, we almost lost morgan on several occasions, I had c-diff colitis, we have dealt with many personal issues...many. We have had so many trials in various forms that it is not even funny. We have been tested and tried over and over and over. Morgan has been sick for almost 2 years straight I am not kidding. We have paid thousands and thousands in co-pays and prescriptions. We have made 3 trips to the hospital in the past month 1 for Morgan 1 for Rod and 1 for me. We have been on 4 doctors appointments in the last month. I was pregnant for 2 years and puked my guts out multiple times each day. There has been so much attack and product of living in this fallen world that I can't even begin to go into detail. I am quite frankly tired. Yes I should praise Him at all times, but I am also worn slap out. And to top it off I get the so called friends and family who have had life on easy street with little to no health problems (which I wish on no one) that can not understand. And they can't seem to shut their mouths either. It seems as if they can rattle off a verse and wrap things up and put a bow on top then everything is okay. I want to scream oh thank you for giving me Romans 8:28 that just took away all of my pain and you solved all of the worlds problems. Where would I be without you to explain it all away for me? When Shelby died people would say you know something was probably going to be wrong with her so God had to take her. Me being in NO MOOD to hear that would tell them I am real sorry and I appreciate your view there but that is not the God of the Bible. Her life was meant to bring Him glory. It was to my Fathers glory that He give her and He knew before the foundations of the world that He was to beckon her home within 30 minutes of her life on earth! HE MAKES NO MISTAKES. That is such limited thinking. I would then hear Oh satan took her. What was that? My God trumps him every time and Shelby's life was in the fold of Gods hands...He is the giver of life. I have learned so much in my own sufferings that I don't want to be self-righteous, cold, or jaded when it comes to others ailments and sufferings, I don't want to be the one who comes by and stomps on their heart a little more. I want to pray for them offering little advice as if I were God and knew the battle going on in the heavenlies as to why God was allowing what He did. Sometimes we just need a good lesson in setting a guard over our mouths. There is a time to listen and a time to speak. Usually our attempts to speak at a time of crisis are pitiful and do not offer much to the hearer.
Through it all the Lord has reminded me that He will never leave me or forsake me and to keep coming to Him when I feel so ridiculed by family or friends. It is almost a joke now to the point where I don't even want to ask for prayer because there is always something wrong. I feel like the lepers in the New Testament that had to scream unclean unclean when people came near. Let's not be that way toward others. I have even had people ask me if losing our first born was a result of our sin. Lord help us!!

Prayer Requests
My sister and her husband are on mission in Paraguay. Please say a prayer for them. Also I have come down with viral spinal meningitis and my spirits are very low right now.
Prayer for Kelsie
Please read further:
Kelsie Dewhurst From: Mike's Weblog
A girl from church on choir tour was apparently hurt pretty badly yesterday Here’s the caringbridge site.
Please pass along to any other HSBC’ers, and say a prayer or two.
Here’s the text from the story:
On June 4, 2007 Kelsie was serious injured when a strong gust of wind toppled a steel column near an outdoor stage where her church youth choir was performing performing in the panhandle of Florida.
After a year of preparation with hours upon hours of rehearsals, much prayer and great commitment the Chi Alpha Choir (www.chialphatour.org) of Hunter Street Baptist Church departed on their 2007 ‘Inside Out’ tours and mission outreach.
Kelsie has been a part of the vital ministry during all four years of high school with 2007 to be her ‘farewell performance’. With a heart of the hurting, particularly small children, Kelsie enjoyed the opportunity to reach out to people in communities surrounding Birmingham, Alabama, south Mississippi, New Orleans, Louisana and the Panhandle of Florida.
While in concert on the final day of their tour the unexpected happened. With the concert underway on the ground of First Baptist Church, Milton, Florida an unexpected strong gust of wind toppled a 20 foot steel column which is part of the set. Kelsie was positioned near the end of a risers and was the only student of nearly 150 youth struck by the toppling column.
Within seconds, following a severe blow to the top of her head, Kelsie was being cared for by the tour physcian and other medical professionals with Chi Alpha or attending the concert. With minutes local first responders were at the scene as well.
Once stabilized with a neck brace, back board and other immediate care was provided Kelsie was being transported by ambulance to a local hospital. The tour physician notified Kelsie’s dad, Bob. And within an hour of the accident a friend and fellow church member volunteered to fly Bob and/or Kelsie’s mother, Sonja to Florida via a business aircraft. With Sonja out of town visiting family and airport accessible limited late at night Bob flew to Pensasola while Sonja returned to their home in Hoover, Alabama to make other preparations. Within about three hours of the accident Bob was with Kelsie at West Florida Hospital in Pensacola.
The most noticeable injury was a deep laceration near the top of her head which cause considerable bleeding. It was also apparent that she was suffering from a concussion because even though she was conscious most of the time there was evidence of short term memory loss. Because of the severity of the blow a major concern was the possibility of a fractured skull and/or bleed inside the skull. A series of and scans was done and there were no signs of internal bleeding or a skull fracture. However, another serious injury was discovered. Kelsie received a broken back.
The Emergency Room Physician discovered a compression fracture of a vertebra. Not only was the vertebra broken there was damage to damage to neighboring bone structure and bone fragment near her spinal cord. A Neurosurgeon was consulted and his examination concluded that surgery would be necessary.
By early morning the following day arrangements were being made to transport Kelsie to University of Alabama - Birmingham Medical Center. By midday Kelsie and Bob were taken by an air ambulance team to Birmingham with Kelsie arriving at UAB at 2:45 pm.
A team of Neurologist and supporting nurses and technician immediately began an assessment of Kelsie’s injuries. The team headed a leading and highly regarded Neurosurgeon confirmed the seriousness of the injury and that surgery would be needed. The surgery would require stabilizing Kelsie’s spine with pin, rods and screws and was tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, June 5th.

On wings like eagles
31 but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

I have been a little emotional today for so many reasons. I was driving and listening to Nichole Nordeman (Brave) and my Spirit just about leaped out of this skin. I LOVE some singer/songwriter music and anything that can point me to the throne in worship. The lyrics that follow have characterized my life so many times:
Navigation: N \ Nichole Nordeman \ No More Chains
How did I get locked up inside?
What's this that renders me paralyzed?
I lost myself in small pieces
It happened over time
I traded love for a heavy chain
Another link every other day
I pulled it up and down a mountain
It made me want to say?
No more chains
No more chains
Big and small, watch them fall away
No more chains
Big and small, watch them fall away
I wonder now if the choice was mine
The door was open, I walked inside
Nobody had my arm twisted
Nobody made me stay
The face of freedom can show up small
A tiny crack in a prison wall
A song that rises up from silence
A voice that wants to say?
I should let you give me wings
I should let you set me free
Navigation: N \ Nichole Nordeman \ Live
Did you come that we might just survive?
Did you come so we could just get by?
Did you walk among us
So we might merely limp along beside?
I was bound, I have been set free
But I have settled for apathy
Did you come to make me new
And know I'd crawl right back into the skin you found me in?
It's where I am, not where I've been
You make me want to live
You make me want to live
You came to shake us
And to wake us up to something more
Than we'd always settled for
And you make me want to live
We've all been up on the mountain top
A golden glow that?s bound to soon wear off
Then it's back to the mundane telling tales of glory days
When we were hopeful that this change was here to stay
So why would a young man
Live in a waste land
When the castle of his dreams is standing by?
Why would a princess
Put on an old dress
To dance with her beloved and a chance to catch his eye?
1It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
Psalm 73:24-26
24 You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will take me into glory.
25 Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.
Isaiah 61:1
1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
17Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
Thank you for coming and taking away my shackles so I can dance! I just want to praise You!

A Woman, Her God, and Her Hair
This shot above is after the "special" shampoo you will have to read to find out. I mean is this suspense or what?
Alright, for some of you this post may not be serious enough for you. Laughter is good medicine for me so humor me if you will. No one loves a good laugh like me. If you know me well you know I love pranks and practical jokes. I can get serious though in a flat second. I am SERIOUS about this post...look at the lengths I have gone to already to get this picture. What you see above my friends is some serious attempts at haircare. A lot of these products promised me far more than they delivered. I have been attempting to have smooth, conditioned, shiny, straight hair...but to no avail. I will back this up with scripture for those of you who think I can't here goes! The Lord cares about my hair! Check out these verses:
Hair to a woman can seriously be her crown of splendor! I am starting to really get some gray hair and yes I will have it colored and take advantage of what God in His grace allowed to be made. Besides, if people see all of the gray they might be intimidated at the righteousness that has earned them for me. JUST KIDDING. But that is what I will say to Rod when he foots the bill for the salon. As a brunette I will not be doing the home job on my hair color. Since the Lord provides for our needs (and this will fall under the need category in my book) I will trust in Him to provide.
Proverbs 16:31
31 Gray hair is a crown of splendor;
it is attained by a righteous life.
Have you ever tried counting your hairs? I have and I had to give up! I have some thick hair but it gives me great comfort to know that Jesus knows the very number of hairs on my head and everyone that ever was...talk about intimately acquainted! He is in to the details!
Luke 12:7
7Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
Song of Solomon 7:5
5 Your head crowns you like Mount Carmel.
Your hair is like royal tapestry;
the king is held captive by its tresses.
I feel this way sometimes:
Psalm 40:12
12 For troubles without number surround me;
my sins have overtaken me, and I cannot see.
They are more than the hairs of my head,
and my heart fails within me.
Look at this. I am not going to let my hair become unkempt..for to me that would be sin people...plain sin!
Leviticus 10:6 Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons Eleazar and Ithamar, "Do not let your hair become unkempt, [a] and do not tear your clothes, or you will die and the LORD will be angry with the whole community. But your relatives, all the house of Israel, may mourn for those the LORD has destroyed by fire.
One more hair verse I promise:
1 Corinthians 11:14-16
14Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, 15but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering. 16If anyone wants to be contentious about this, we have no other practice—nor do the churches of God.
Just a little disclaimer here: I know it looks like I could stock the shelves at WalMart here but these were bought over time and with coupons (mostly). I do have a point here. The other day I went to the Beauty supply store to get my flat iron spray. I have what I call resurrection hair days (before Jesus performs a miracle on my hair and after He resurrects it from the dead...it really is a miracle). You see...if I do not use the flat spray and flat iron you would be scared because yes I do indeed look like a bad chia pet without it. Ever since I had Shelby and Morgan my hormones have been drastically altered (thanks Eve) and my hair is extremely dry. I spoke with my sister about it and she says I need to pour olive oil in it. I am not ready for the anointing of that oil just yet. I want to try a few other products before I get that drastic. So anyway, I went and made a purchase of shampoo and condition for "women of color". I asked the lady at the checkout (in a whisper) "is this for white people?" She told me I could get it (deep down I think she just needed to make a purchase). So I bought them and came home for the trial! It seemed ok the first try, then the second...but after that it starting doing crazy stuff to my do. I love to read. I will read shampoo bottles, cereal boxes, anything but instructions, and I especially love to read the word. Have you ever read some of the advertisements on shampoo bottles? They offer so much and deliver so little. Some promise to even take me to paradise. They offer to quench my thirsty hair. It is quite hilarious! And yet that is so like this world system and sin...it offers a lot, lures you in and deceives you. You are left cheated like Judas Iscariot making his money, betraying Jesus and then hanging himself in a field. We wrap chains around us so subtly by buying into it. It was my prayer this afternoon that I wouldn't buy into it. Please help us Lord. Until then I can't wait for my glorified body and some perfect hair!

Be still my heart
This is my life it is 3am and I am up blogging. I just went outside and stared at the bright night sky. Today is Rods birthday and yesterday was the 4 year anniversary of his accident. So many of my brothers and sisters know it well...I got the horrible news that Rod was hurt and the paramedics and firemen were getting him out of the woods. It would be the woods!! Panicked, I had a precious friend see me to the ER where we would get the news as to whether or not Rod was paralyzed. Praise Be to the Blessed Controller of all things he was not. Within minutes of arriving at UAB there were well over a hundred of my brothers and sisters in Christ in the waiting room at the hospital. So many people came they had to call crowd control and people began to wonder if someone famous was at the hospital! I wasn't in the right frame of mind then...but oh yes someone FAMOUS was in the house! The Body of Christ and the Holy Spirit. There is nothing like it in times of peril! They rallied around us in prayer and the doctors said they were absolutely AMAZED that he was not paralyzed. PRAISE YOU LORD!
Anyway, (my power is about to die on my laptop) that was an interesting time!
Two years ago today I was in the hospital on bed rest awaiting the arrival of my second child...sweet Morgan. She held off until the 24th! Oh the insanity...I was a brute beast before the Lord due to some major hormones and confinement.
I am back now after a long day it is Fri afternoon. We are about to head over to a friends house for some dinner and celebration and some good ole butter cream cake. Sarah and Abe had quite an age difference but now I am really starting to see the difference 12 years makes. He is twelve years my senior. I was in kindergarten when he graduated high school! I still think that I am the most mature one out of the two :). He did more partying than me back in the day but I definitely have the life experience thing on him. As far as fixing stuff, Rod is extremely smart. He is downstairs as we speak reloading bullets. He knows all kinds of what I call useless info. And if you need help just give the guy a call. That all seems pretty boring if you ask me: ballistics, hunting stuff, Auburn football (ask him ANYTHING...I mean ANYTHING...he knows it when it comes to that)...
I was never one for womens lib..I mean dude you mow the grass and I will tend to the house. ha ha!
All of this is to say that last night I was at WalMart and the moon was in rare form. It stole my breath away and some beats from my heart. The Lord did not waste this masterpiece on me or my sidekick. We stood in the WalMart parking lot gazing and I extolled the Lords goodness to Him and her to show her momma that moon. It was sort of orange and I tried to take a picture of it but people kept walking bye staring at the crazy lady and her kid. I called Rod and told him to get outside and check it out!! This was a 911 God is AWESOME moment...and do you know what he said? Babe don't you know that is what you call a red moon...its been around for years you must have not been paying attention as a kid. Well EXCUSE me! He still couldn't steal our wonder and marvel at my God. AND FOR CRYING OUT LOUD I have seen it look like that before. I am getting to my point...I keep getting all of these false alarms and when I saw it I thought Oh Lord You are about to draw back the curtain in the sky and come to meet us in the air. I might have to bow down in this WalMart parking lot. For those of you who have not been reading with me for a while go back to this story to better understand me.
12Then the fourth angel blew [his] trumpet, and a third of the sun was smitten, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that [the light of] a third of them was darkened, and a third of the daylight [itself] was withdrawn, and likewise a third [of the light] of the night was kept from shining.
Who are we really that He is mindful of us? Look up people...Look up at His power and glory shown so bright in the heavens:
Psalm 8:2-42 From the lips of children and infants
you have ordained praise [a]
because of your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.
3 When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
4 what is man that you are mindful of him,
the son of man that you care for him?
I gotta run before I get in trouble. PS...please pray for us. We need a break from the doctor for a while. Morgan has 3 more upcoming appointments and we just left their earlier...right before the gas spill at sams on 150 that was really fun.
Joshua 10:12-14
12Then Joshua spoke to the Lord on the day when the Lord gave the Amorites over to the Israelites, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, be silent and stand still at Gibeon, and you, moon, in the Valley of Ajalon!
13And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the nation took vengeance upon their enemies. Is not this written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of the heavens and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day.
14There was no day like it before or since, when the Lord heeded the voice of a man. For the Lord fought for Israel.
